I was tempted by those but went for Cinturato Velos in 28c to replace the 32c GKs on my Demon. The GKs are just a bit too tight with guards on.

We should have clubbed together to split postage 😣

@damitamit great spot!
Edit - 40 quid for 2 Cinturato Velos, happy with that

Has anyone ridden Compass Babyshoe Pass 650b x 42mm? Any good?
I'm about to replace my 42mm Grand Bois Hetre, which I think are great, but I was wondering if there's any others worth considering first.
Also I could go tubeless.
I tried some slick gravel king but didn't like them in the wet.
Maybe @edscoble -

Nope, I just went for tyres I can get and know Itll work 100% tubeless (like Teravail)

Am I gonna notice much difference between paselas and marathon mondials in terms or road speed? Want something a bit tougher for multi day rides 80/20 road/offroad. Always a bit nervous about paselas..
-
• #7458
The sidewalls on paselas aren't really suitable for off road imho.
I had a 38c pair and after less than 300 miles I have a sidewall cut which has meant I probably won't use these off road again, since I don't think they are up to it, and any mildly rocky trail will finish them.
I'm pretty sure Mondials are a much more robust tyre, not even in the same category as Paselas.

Yeah my thoughts, but I don't really want to feel like I'm riding a tractor on the road.
Guess I'll just have to give them a go.

Got the Conti 5000 TL
CBA to fit them myself got LBS to do it
They complained about how they were tough to fit. So money well spent.Anyway these 28mm come up narrower than the Schwalbe Pro-One 28mm
I’m not distressed, but will go fatter next time -

I ended up getting slashes the whole way round my paselas. Echoing that they're not offroad tyres. Did sew them up for the experiment though.

If anyone's interested, the mondials felt great in a straight line, but frankly terrifyingly when transitioning to the side knobs, especially off road. 35c.
Gonna get some almotions, seems the sweet spot between road / off road / strength.

Is this GP4K worn out or not? These pics are the TWIs on the same tyre, so about an inch apart.
If they need replacing, these were a pain in the bollocks to get on these wheels. What are some decent current alternatives that aren’t quite so tight? Will be dry weather only.

Nah, life in those. You'll start to get loads more punctures when they're almost worn out.

Good news 😁

That small hole is your wear indicator but by the time its gone so will be your patience and thumbs.

There’s two close together. One looks like there’s a good enough amount of material left, but the one next to it is almost gone, so I’m basically 🤷♂️

what @umop3pisdn and @pacef8 said; when they're getting thin you'll spend half your rides fixing punctures. That's my usual sign they need to be replaced.
-
• #7470
what width do you need?
-
• #7471
I think I might just replace them before that happens.
Anyone know if this is a good tyre/price - and whether it's any easier to mount than a GP4ks2 is?
