  • Its probably been asked here multiple times but whats the consensus on Vittoria Corsa G+ ??

  • I'm a big fan, grippy and good puncture protection. The one drawback is that they wear a bit quick, at least in my experience.

  • easy to put on, fast and grippy, and usually have a better puncture record than often portrayed

  • ^ Yeah, all that, and I only use them in the dry and they seem to last pretty well in good conditions.

  • ... just to add to the G+ questions, will they survive gravel paths? (my cycle surgery order arrived, hooray!)

  • Sweet, will order - thanks! @Engineering101 - did you get yours from Cylcle Surgery? Notice they are £30 each, folding, right now...

Edit: Are you guys using latex tubes with these or standard conti inners?

  • I got lucky and caught them on their recent 3 for 2..! Have them set up with latex but yet to ride them.

  • I've had regular G+ in 25c and a few pairs of the G+ Corsa Control in 28c. Regular feel a bit faster but the Control last longer. I put a pair cheap Planet X Ruffy Tuffy on for winter and they're ok but G+ are so much better. Mainly used on roads but coped well on the paths through Epping forest and the odd farm track. Not gone down the latex route yet - put off by all that pumping.

  • I have Corsa g+ with latex tubes and they're decent. The pumping up isn't really an issue, only an extra 30 seconds every could of days. Also only had one puncture in about 2 years of the same tubes, including through the winter.

  • Which tyres would look well with Miche Pistard wheelset? Would like something which looks well but also provides good level of puncture protection. Thanks

  • So far on my veloflex master (gumwall) i must say i am very impressed with the rolling resistant, but also the puncture resistant. Definetly would recommend them over the corsa g which i had about 2 months before getting rid of them due to their poor performance on the road and track.

  • Has anyone used Schwalbe Super-Moto X 26 x 2.4 ??

  • They seem very similar to Big Apple/Ben, which I am not particularly impressed about.

  • why are you not impressed, and what would you recommend instead in 26x2.3ish size?

  • what would you recommend instead in 26x2.3ish size?

    Rat Trap Pass. ;)

  • sadly no, I had compass 700x38 before and hated them, terrible in the wet, pricey, loads of punctures

  • Who rides in the wet?!

  • you, on your annual UK cyclotouring holiday

  • In the five glorious weeks I've toured in the UK, I think I've had three or four real rain days. I got extremely lucky both times, as I was reminded of by everyone I encountered. :)

  • haha, beautiful pic!

  • As if anyone's going to believe that your photos are real

  • Lots of rolling reistance unless you keep them >60psi, at which point they seem to really like picking up every single shard of glass, it sits there in the thread and slowly cuts its way to the inner tube. Made my last winter rather stressful.

I don't know much about >2" tires, but I've been recommended the City Jets, which come at 1.95" and I am interested in some iterations of the Conti Contact, although they are even skinnier.

  • yes, I had city jets in the past, adored them. now looking for something a bit bigger.

  • Seriously hankering for a long ride right now.

  • What about Conti Ride Cruisers at 2.2" or Maxxis DTH at 2.3"?
    Never tried either
