I have slick gravelkings. They're fast and supple, not too heavy but I get a lot of flats. Tubeless somewhat alleviate the problem, but won't recommend for daily use, too fragile

I’ve just ordered a range of Gravelking SK tyres to test for size on my Strael 2, hoping to take it off road a bit, gravel, dirt etc without being terrible on road.
Before I ride them, is there a better option out there ideally in gumwall?
I can def fit a 32 at the back and a 35 at the front, but hoping I can squeeze in a 35 and 38 respectively.

Maybe a bit late but the 28mm Pro 4 Endurance measure 29mm on my rims that are 20mm internal width, GP5000 28 comes up fractionally narrower.
Rode the TAW this year with a Pro 4 on the back and a GP5000 on the front (because one GP5000 got a sidewall cut a few weeks before) and I didn't have a single puncture in 2400km.

Let me know how you get on. I am looking at 35c gravelking slicks on my strael frameset when it comes

Any further reports on the ramparts?
-
• #6411
Donhou delay so i will have to test them on the lynskey this weekend .

Ah ok.
I’m leaning towards GP4000, more on a better the devil you know basis. -

I think I'm going to use them.
I have a convoluted tyre swapping thing in mind which could mean having a bike with the G Ones and one with the Rubinos.

Am I gonna brutally die if I spend a few days riding these? Split has not gone all the way through to the tube.

I would gorilla/duck/gaffa tape the inside to relieve pressure from the tube on the tear.
-
• #6416
I usd some gorilla tape on mine and still rode about 3k kms on them. Still lived to tell the tale with all my teeth. Did swap to back though...

I bodged a torn sidewall with a Kit Kat wrapper and it held 23 miles to my destination.
But what’s the point of risking if a tyre will hold out if you can get a replacement? If it fails is could be costly -

Are G-One Speed Liteskin 2.35" tyres meant to puncture frequently and freely and was I stupid to buy them as commuter tyres.
(Yes)
I guess everyone who raves about them is running them tuubeless

best 26" all-round mtb tyre? reasonably priced if possible

Bontrager XR Mud. Mostly the right tyre and definitely not the wrong tyre for pretty much every situation. If you're not absolutely smashing it down gnarly descents.

Bontrager XR Mud
Is that not a bit shit on dry summer trails?
-
• #6422
Nope. The size means they're pretty fast still, the rubber sticks well to rock and such and the tread is really good at finding grip in loose-over-hard conditions.
Anything "better" will be a dry-conditions tyre and objectively shit in autumn/winter conditions

I got the Gravelking SKs and did some experimenting. It fits a 35mm at the back, but with only a few mm each side of the chain stays (on 20mm internal rims the come up around 36mm).
I want to go off road so I ended up going 32mm rear and 35mm front, giving a bit more clearance.

Absolutely no chance. Thanks
Date has gone back another week as well . They better be good.
