What are the hive mind approved cheapish 26 inch gravel light off road tire?

Currently looking at Conti Double Fighter III, Race King but could also just keep the DTH's on and have a couple more pastis this summer in the south of France.

Will probably get the Race King Sport, reasonably priced and looks good for smashing loose and hard stuff.

What size tub for a rear Hed Disc? A 19mm to match the rim width or 22mm for better rolling resistance?

23mm Vittoria Corsa Speed. Sizes up around 22mm but will be fastest overall taking into consideration Crr.

Ever since I put Clement Strada LGG 32s on in place of Conti Cyclo X King 35, bike seems more of a chore on tarmac. Can this semi knobbly be better rolling than a slick? Was very happy with LGG 25s on road bike.

Do your Strava times back this up?

What pressures you running the different tyres at?

All about 50psi. I suppose I'm really wondering if the LGGs aren't actually that great, particularly in the larger size. Perhaps it's highlighted the shortcomings of the the low TPI count.

Does anyone have a good rec for knobbly tyres that are gumwall and 650b? I have a straggler and want to see how well it can shed some trails...

Ah, maybe they aren't all that then. Have you considered gravelkings, roll and grip well, also spesh roubaix pro are decent.

thinking of doing 650b gravel kings or the soma cazadero -- GKs are cheaper, but cazadero are knobblier and I can get them much cheaper when I'm in the US next week....

Went for some gravel riding over the weekend and the DTH's held up pretty good. Need to play a bit with pressures but otherwise ok.
