  • Didn't know if they were comparable with the fast 'super supple' balloon tyres that seem all the rage these days. They look a bit lumpy. They're to go on a Nature Boy, so may look more at home than a rando looking tyre.

I am afraid you have gone full prolly

  • I saw it more as full Scoble. I thought Prolly was all about the 40c WTB Nano.

Though, not 30 minutes ago I did Google to see about getting a genuine Spurcycle bell. Very Prolly.
Saw the price, nearly shat and settled on a Rock Bros. knock-off. Very unProlly.

  • get spur, rockbros is shit, I have 2 spare in my shed .. even that knog bullshit is better than spur rip off/rockbros

  • £60! For a bell. I'd rather just yell. Or rely on Hope Trials hub and a little backpedalling to buzz people out of my way.

  • Knog oi is shite, rattles the shit out of itself when not floating over pristine flat roads.
Very unOn point with latest gravel trendz.

  • Question about Vittoria hypers: Anyone has set them tubeless? How big the 38mm measures? Ta

  • The apparently cheap G+ on Sigma are the 220 TPI version. Don't compromise.

  • Wiggle have the 320s for £35.

  • How much difference does the TPI have on actual ride quality? I've only ever used hardy winter tyres with at most 120 TPI, and wondered about getting some 'posh' wheels for the summer.

  • Cheers for pointing that out. I have two unopened in the box from them ready for a weekend in flanders, cheeky cunce. Will return.

  • I dunno. But since you can get the 320 for less than the 220 in this case, it's a no brainer. It's probably all marketing chat, but there's a degree of suppleness in higher TPI casings, IIRC.

  • I take back my cunce remark, customer services guy was apologetic and says he'll pass up my suggestion to include the tpi count in the title or width option box

  • The ride difference is very noticable. The G+ roll beautifully.

  • how are folk getting on with their hypers? I haven't ridden mine yet.

  • I'm just listed my 35s for sells. I've found them quite good but the 35s are just a bit too close to my frame and fork to be able to cope if I hit any mud. I'm going to stick with the 700x32s.

  • I've got the 32s on my wheels. I guess I'm just wondering whether I should go with a 'racier' tire (basically gp4000 28) for the TCR or whether I should just mount some fresh Hyper 32s before the race and use those.

  • Ride both sets for 4-5000k then decide based on how often you're patching one or the other or lying on the ground after losing grip on a wet corner.

  • Probably don't have time to ride 8-10000km between now and august :(

I've ridden about that much on gp4000 25s and never came off (apart from once on black ice). Have you had issues with grip on the hypers?

  • No issues at all with Hypers so far (other than the 35s being a bit big for my bike). I've only had them a week though and half of that week I was drunk I've not done that much on them. I'll know more after a couple more weeks.

  • Sure this has been mentioned before but hypers can be a bit slippy in the wet until they wear in; it's worth giving them a decent scrub when first fitted to clean off all the mould release agent. Otherwise great tyres; I run 35s because I'm lardy and they were dirt cheap, even if the clearances are a little tighter than I'd like.

  • Anyone used the 700 x 41 Knards for any length of time? I've ordered some on a whim after a quick roll around on a pair as since fitting my Bon Jons I've been riding almost exclusively on bridleways and flinty paths. Am yet to kill them but would rather save them for smoother days.

  • About 4hrs so far. Got the 120tpi version, not too heavy for a large tyre. Run nicely on bridleway and canal towpath, none too shabby on the black stuff either. If going over very muddy ground, not the quickest to clear.

  • Well, as long you don't ride them exclusively on tarmac, I reckon you be fine...

  • Fair enough, as I'm a cheapskate I've gone for the 27tpi as my lht weighs a metric fuckton anyway. Will chuck some liners or slime in if they feel particularly flimsy.

The idea is to bridge the gap between my lht in road tourer mode and my Ogre which, when it arrives will be running 27.5x3.0" if it doesn't come in time I'll have to use the lht for our Ridgeway ride..

  • Just bought a pair of Specialized Roubaix Pro 30/32c. They will arrive tomorrow. How does people rate them compared to Kojak, G One and other +30c tyres?
