23mm is way too small for Surreys.

Open Corsa G+ run massive on wide rims; 23c at least 25mm wide and 25c more like 28mm

25 on 25 are fine for me on a caad10 with Force callipers. Similar to Ones I think.

I run 25c corsa G+ on my caad10 from 2013/14. Clearance is fine with ultegra calipers. rims aren't wide though, mavic cosmic sle.

Thanks for reply. Leaning towards over-inflation being the cause of his misery.

I've had mine for about.. 1500-2000 miles maybe and they've started to wear pretty badly. The rear will definitely need replacing soon as it's flatted twice in two weeks for the first time
Sounds about the same wear rate as old Vittoria Corsa then ? Very happy with Veloflex Corsa, about 3000miles now and no cuts or punctures

Another tire into the mix, just when I thought I knew what to buy... I hadn't really thought about them before, but seem pretty decent and well priced. I was set on moving to pro4 endurance for the autumn/winter but now tempted by the veloflex.

Niche question: anyone ever put a 28c corsa g+ on a zipp 303? Would like to know what width they come out at. Suspect it would be too wide to fit on a himod synapse

That's not true though is it. A tubeless tyre will puncture when the tyre itself is breached. When there's a tube in, both the tyre and the tube need to be breached.

Given how relatively fragile a tube is compared to a tyre, I am assuming that if the tyre is breached the tube is also likely to suffer too.

This was the thought that went through my head when I read the above.
-
• #3615
I've had a thorn through a tyre, that hasn't breached the latex tube.
-

Latex tubes can survive glass shards that slice tyres to pieces. I've made it home with inner tube visible to the naked eye through a diced casing. Elasticity yo!

I'm looking for a pair of budget 28c clinchers for my daily (roadbike) which will be used for some mild touring, mostly on tarmac but also on gravel. I'd like to have something which gives me a bit more confidence on gravel than the Luganos which are currently mounted. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Gravel king!

Mh, at 40€ a piece they are a bit above the budget I had in mind for this particular bike but I'll consider it. Any other recommendations?

Had a great time touring on Ribmos, running the 35c on my croix it rolled well on tarmac and also handled some mellow off road just fine. Also toured on 28s for a few hundred miles on my GT and found them decent.
Had no problem cornering or descending on them either hitting 60mph down from Col d'Aubisque.

Michelin Pro4 Endurance 28c. Not tried them on gravel gravel, but if you really want to do gravel are you sure you want 28s?

I would recommend Durano (not plus) for that

Thanks for the input everyone!
@hamrack 28c is more or less dictated by the width of the rims and the clearances of the bike in question. I'm not planning to ride on gravel because I want to but a lot of bicycle paths in rural areas in southern Germany are gravel roads so 23c is far from ideal for touring, also because it would be nice to run a lower tire pressure on longer distances.
@Simba I think I'll give the Durano's a try, so far I was quite happy with the quality/price ratio of schwalbe tyres -

What 30/32/35c tyres for winter riding on road (especially London)?
Been running One's all summer but they're horrible over wet manhole covers.
Had Gravel Kings before and the grip was spot on but ended up with a few punctures over time.
This alone tells me I've been running waaay to much pressure on 23c's but I'm def going to look at getting some 25's! Thanks heaps
