4 season in 23c measure a little over 22mm, the 28c is also a little over 28mm (edge to edge of thread).
You can ride it but there's risk of sidewall cut.
Tyres like the Bontrager AW2/3 have a larger thread with tiny sidewall idea for wide rims.

Fuuck, am I gonna have to start stockpiling? Now I know how all those old testers feel when they go on about the discontinued tubs of yesteryear.

It doesn't make sense, it's a very popular tyres for all condition, hell we can't keep up with the demand in my shop.

Thanks for the info Ed, I'll check out those Bontragers.

I don't know if they're good in the wet unfortunately, they seemed decent and a bastard to install due to it's "aero" lips on the bead.

Any recommendations for a clincher to use on track (manchester) with a 25mm rim? Realise that clincher & track is a bit of an oxymoron but i'm not getting a set of tubs just yet. cheers

I was good with the one option...now I need to make a choice :) 25mm in the vittorias?
-

23mm if they're for track. Disclaimer, I'm not a trackie but those are what I'd go for. With latex tubes. Probably take the Contis over the Vittoria.

Ta once more.

I really hope they aren't getting rid. My favourite tyres. Doesn't seem to be on the website though.
Seems odd to get rid of something that clearly sells well and has been one of their flagship tyres for ages.

Spam alert - selling some barely used here: http://www.lfgss.com/comments/12521931/

They've been heavily discounted for quite a while - like £20 cheap for the clinchers.
I hear they're fast but kinda funny handling?
-

Are we talking about pavés here? I've not seen any offers - they're still £30 a pop everywhere.

Looking at the site, the closet I can find is the Vittoria Corsa which also come in 28mm.
Claim long life, wet weather performance and suppleness.

This tyre tubeless ready seems to be the Pave replacement.

had my latex + open corsa 25mm debut yesterday, oh my.
4 season aren't that grippy, I've got them on at the moment, Mavic Yksion Elite Guard are very grippy.
