Which Tyres?

I'm already on the Durano Plus for the commuter

Looking for budget tyres for eldests bike. Found some Spesh Roubaix Pros 32/30 at my lbs for £25 ea with free tubes, they don't look dissimilar to Vittoria Rubino Pro tech I had a couple of years ago, anybody used em?

Definitely not a fair weather bike, just lower mileage than it used to be now I've got a more capable commuter. I did have a look at the Stradas actually. Kinda drawn to them as they look comparatively affordable compared to the Paves.

PBK has them cheapest; they keep sending codes weekly so look out for that. Other choice would be Schwalbe One from Germany.

Just did a quick re-read on the GP4000s and it turns out they're 320tpi anyway!?
I don't find them particularly uncomfortable as it is, so wondering if I should stick some latex tubes in them first before I switch tyres!

330tpi, but that's three layers at 110tpi.

Ahhhhhh ok well that's interesting to know! Have also been reading a lot of positive reviews on the LLGs, so I think I'll pick up a pair and see how they do :)

I doubt they'll be any comfier than your Contis, especially in 23c.

Innit, dunno why so many people are recommending them for commuters. Not like you'll feel the difference once you put commuting tyres on anyway.

Deffo would not bother on a commuter. Schwalbe do some extra light butyl tubes, but their normal ones are decent enough.

Depends on lots of things but matters not very much - you still need to inflate your tyres.

Latex on commuter is far from ideal but so is spending half your money on bikes.

I have them on all the bikes with decent tyres (pro4, kojak and strada tub) and don't mind spending extra 20 seconds pumping 10 psi every morning for the riding quality; that will be even quicker and easier once I get a compressor in the shed.

No point doing it with a marathon plus, or ribmo or any such atrocities.

ok, am only tubeless on the commuto x, road biek and 29er

fixed wheel, old road bike (latex), west london folding biek and fat bike are still using inner tubes

They're useful on much bigger tyres TBH, skinny road tyres have less of a marginal gain.

MTB light tube can shave off 60g easily, hence why I used it with the Grand Bois Hetres.
