No luck with my tyre questions as of late😅
Maybe anyone with gravelking slicks or semislicks in 35c could give them a quick measure? Ta! -

If you don't have any luck by next week, shoot me a DM to remind me to check for you. I have the lightly nobbled 35mm GKs. The problem is that they're at work and I'm at home with covid.

ah cheers man, hope you recover soon!

I've got 32 mm Paselas - would you like the width of them mounted on a rim?
-
• #10006
That would be great thanks. Also the type of rim or internal width would be useful!

Echoing heavy and slow, but why not track down forum favourite Contact Urban? Also available in 700x50 https://conti-tyres.co.uk/commuting-touring/contact-urban

This is a crap photo and I couldn’t find my vernier callipers, but a 32 mm Pasela on a 25 mm external rim measures 32 mm wide.

It does look like the left edge is off, but that is the camera angle.

Okay thanks a lot! Just ordered one in 38, fingers crossed it will squeeze in...

I had 38c Ramparts on my road bike over summer but didn't have the clearance for guards so moved down to 32c for winter. The 38s were the easiest tyres I've ever fitted, went on with my thumbs every time. I've given up on the 32s after snapping two tyre levers and giving myself a blood blister. Will have another go when I'm not as close to chucking the entire wheel out of a window. Absolute bastards.

Any preference over mezcal/barzo or racing Ralph/ray combinations?

I read quite some negative things about Gravelkings but these tyres deserve more love imo.
I'm using these for commuting, they don't feel heavy or slow and I never had a puncture.

G One Overland. According to Schwalbe these are tubeless easy. If this is tubeless easy I would hate to see what tubeless difficult looks like.

What's the current consensus on puncture-resistant commuter tyres?
After something not too sluggish and non-slippy (had some bad gatorksin experiences) and in a widish size...
Are marathons any good?

I’ll stick with my usual reccomendation of Continental contact urban

Any idea if these can be tubeless? Couldn't see on the Continental website

I've not had issues with Schwalbe going TL (they've been some of the easiest to install). What rim and tape combo are you fitting to?

Riding up near Stevenage yesterday in the lanes and the pissing rain was a bit of a flat fest.
Missus on some old GP4000 and I was riding my usual Michi Pro 4 Endurance 28s. Also probably done quite a few miles, can't actually remember when I fitted them.
Since she didn't bring tyre levers and can't take the tyres off with her hands alone I had to do all the tyre swapping. As punishment, I mean, as a way to reduce the chance of flats during winter, she's getting a NOS pair of 700x37 Voyager Hyper tyres.
Not sure I'll bother changing mine to anything else but if I was it would probably be Durano or Durano Plus in 32mm if possible. What would you choose? 32mm max clearance on my frame and I'm not going to run anything as slow as Marathons. I still need to keep my Hands of Steel in use now and then so I never need tyre levers.

Yeah me neither. This tyre has replaced a G One Speed, so I was expecting the same kind of easy ride I had from that. No such luck. Hunt rims and tape.
I lost patience in the end and stuck a tube in there, I’d rather ride my bike than argue with a tyre.
-
• #10021
Fair enough. Was the tyre more supple than the one you took off? Fitting GKs was tricky because the tyres are so limp, they're hard to get a seal all around to lock the bead. What was the issue with them - no bead lock? Do you have a blaster pump or inflator of some sort?
-
• #10022
Did you have any more issues with those all rounds I sold you a while back?
-
• #10023
Anyone used Schwalbe one tube type? cheap on SJS
-
• #10024
I put durano plus dd on the ladies wheels and she wore that back to the carcass with no punctures . They where cheap from merlin at the time as well.

Not at all! I’ve been lulled into a false sense of security by a lot of simple schwalbe installs and they’ve taken the opportunity to fuck me over.
Could somebody who has them perhaps measure how wide paselas in 35c are in reality? I know its rim dependant, but just to give me an idea. My frame clears 32 gatorskins by a few mm, so wondering of paselas in 35 would fly.
Cheers!
