Not directly related, but I'm currently overlooking the bottom of Hackney Road in Shoreditch, a blind corner and a traffic bottleneck, and the HGVs/aggregate lorries/concrete mixers absolutely careen up and down this road.

i have just seen a post on Cyclechat, that says it was a female cyclist and tragically, police reported that she didn't make it.

I have chills down my spine. so so sad. RIP

it wasnt a man, it was a lady, and she was on a bike and was hit by a truck. She wasnt conscience this morning. Very very very sad. Not a great thing to witness and everyone who saw it was shaking.

I cycled past just now and spoke to a community warden who was on the scene soon after the accident. Apparently it's now a crime scene as the HGV driver was over the limit.

Let's hope the book is thrown at the driver if that's the case. It's 2-5 years for death by dangerous driving if over the limit. Seems cheap for someone's life.
