agree the dhb ones I've got are far the best, the pad is really really good. actually, they're the only bibs I have but I have shorts by rapha and pearl izumi and the pads don't compare.
I have an unfortunate issue with the silicon grippers (after a few hours can read the logos in raised red bumps around my thigh!) but that's not really their fault. gonna try turning them up.these ones: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-ladies-aeron-race-cycling-bib-short/ also available in 3/4 leg

Also dhb, love 'em. I've got the basic bibs in various season styles as well as one of the mid-range ones and they're all great.

ok, I'm curious. do people (yes you bothers) usually go for bibs over shorts? or when/why?
I find the toiletting issue really somewhat annoying, having to take off whatever I've got on top just to take a piss. -

Personally I prefer bibs: no waistband to dig in & stay up due to the braces/shoulder strap things.
Like everyone else the DHB bibs are great value, but I have been super happy with the ones from Howies which are my bibs of choice (great pad, nice fit, no silicon grippers but still stay firm).

I rarely wear bibs cos I have to pee about five times a ride. I have some lovely Rapha ones but I hardly ever wear them. Just cba stripping off in a field in winter.
Summer will be different, I will be flashing all the cows then.

I don't enjoy having to do the full strip when I need to pee but I just suck it up because I hate the waistband of shorts digging in or rolling underneath itself leaving big red marks and HUGE FAT ROLLS spilling over the top and sides even more. I use shorts on the turbo where I don't care what I look like so as not to wear out my proper gear, though.

I have Assos shorts, they are AWESOME but I think the none rolling down thing with bibs will be a bonus. Thanks for all the wisdom ladies, I'll have a look at the DHB ones I reckon!

I have some dhb roubaix tights, they're great.
I much prefer shorts to bibs, because of the stripping off/peeing thing but also I find them more comfortable. I have a pretty small waist so sometimes bibs are bit gappy around my middle, whereas shorts don't really dig in (my perfect shorts are ones with drawstring so I can make them even tighter).

my 2pc worth:
I got the old rapha sky womens bibs coz they were on sale and then I had that £15 off voucher from Evans womens night. Cha-ching!Worn them once and the fabric has a good feel. Grippers were not too grippy. I'll pay more attention next time, just been a bit cold for them so far.
what's this bibs over shorts biznezz?
-
• #887
i interpreted that as bibs instead of shorts, rather than putting shorts on and then bibs on top of them. That sounds difficult to walk in if both have chamois pads D:
Also, lol@you and your pro team kit.

"Bibs over shorts" = "bibs instead of shorts"
Same meaning innit. -
• #889
yeah, either/or, like. didn't mean to be ambiguous!
although howies do bib tights with no pad, intended to go over something else.
their regular bibs are out of stock.
c'mon howies, make us some shorts? -

bib tights with no pad, intended to go over something else
haha this is what I thought you were talking about...cos double padding is for princesses and peas!

Bibs...I have Rapha women's classic bibs and 3/4 fleecy ones and I love both of them! They make me feel all sleek and streamlined like a gymnast and have always been so comfy, although I could see how the pad might be too thick for some. Stripping off to wee is a bit annoying but the 2 mins of faff is worth it for being more comfortable the rest of the time in my opinion.

Definite +1 for the DHBs I have the aerons (?) and they have made long rides much happier. Also have Howies over bib things - which am v happy with.

So the Union 34 trousers are some of the most uncomfortable, ill fitting trousers I've ever tried to walk in, nevermind ride in : (
Got a size 16 and to say they are snug around the thigh is an understatement. Admittedly I do have chunky thighs but I have size 14 skinny/non stretch jeans they go in. And cycling trousers are supposed to have a bit more room, eh?
And due to the "snugness" the crotch doesn't really sit in my erm crotch which a) makes for a pretty uncomfortable sensation when riding and b) kinda low hanging looking.
They are also pretty long for "standard" and the waist and hips are actually way too big.
So in conclusion: great, if you are 6ft plus with slender thighs and wide hips and arse : /
I've read that Union34 got students at Central St Martin to design their clothes and the asking fashion types to make technical clothing really shows. If I'd laid the RRP of £99 I would be fuming. No wonder so much of their stuff is going cheap across the Internet.

I have the trousers and they don't fit well even though I'm quite slim, so I agree with you Poots.
The jacket and hoody I bought a short while back would never win any style awards but they are good for casual winter urban riding.

Tried out my new Gore bibs at the weekend. The zip system is a pretty perfect solution for
wee stops"bio breaks". Well pleased with them. -

Looks good BB.
I am excited about things like water beading on garms! :D
I have to say the dhb ladies ones make me happy/my bit happy for the cost. Only down side is the full leg ones I've got are a bit too long for my short legs.
I also got some bargain reduced ones in Decathlon that are so flippin' comfy I went back next day to buy another pair. Am on phone atm but will try and find a link in a bit.
