Waterproof jackets - I use this one from Corinne Dennis and will probably buy another if it ever falls apart. It's 50 quid so cheaper than most, packs down to kagoule size but is actually quite substantial, which means it does a fairly good job of keeping you warm if you're off the bike having ridden through a thunderstorm; has two zip (waterproof) pockets which I find massively useful and I've had it for years and it's stayed waterproof.
Only problem is the sizing is a bit weird; I bought my usual size and it's a fair bit baggier/wider than I expected. Not really a problem for me (though it does turn into a comedy wind tunnel if I have it undone a bit on a windy day) but I imagine it could be a pain for someone taller and slimmer than me. They have a few stockists in London so you could try them out for size.
Tights: not sure... never used Decathlon ones. Maybe try some others - sounds like it could be to do with cheaper material losing elasticity perhaps? I have good Sugoi, Nike and Gore ones. I usually wear short liners under unpadded tights which might help keep them still. Possibly.

That does look quite wearable. I will investigate - one of those stockists listed is relatively near the office. I feel a lunchtime shopping trip coming on!

Big sale on at sheactive. I would be all over the Sugoi short liners if I wasn't skint.

Has anyone tried Outlier's Daily Riding pant?
http://shop.outlier.cc/shop/retail/women-s-daily-riding-pant.htmlThey are on sale online* and i would really like a pair, but not sure about the sizing, pants are always hard to fit my big hip/small waist combo.
Also keen to hear how they are to ride in; all the pics online i can find are people tootling along all upright.

http://www.sheactive.co.uk(as an aside, for any snowboarders out there, the FALKE snowboarding socks which are on sale on this site, are magical. You will want to kiss them at the end of a long day on the slopes. investment recommended.)

I have always wanted a pair of the Outlier trousers, never managed to justify the price though. Will you reveal your sale sources?!

Would also be interested to know what they're like for riding in. Since I started commuting on my bike every day I've had to abandon my skinny jeans. If these are comfortable for riding I'll be tempted to get a pair too as I think they look great.

It's an Australian site:
http://cyclestyle.com.au/shop/clothing/daily-riding-pants-womens/Saw they were on sale, AU$199 down from AU$239. As i have family there and are visiting at the end of the year, figured i could buy now and pick up then. (delivery to where i am now is too much hassle)
But the US $ is currently about the same value, so it would actually be easier to buy them directly from the manufacturer when i'm in NY shortly, at least I can try them on first.
Will report back if i end up investing.

they have a few of the Sugoi Wallaroo hoodies (the merino ones) in CycleSurgery Strype Street on sale. But only in grey size L and I've forgotten how much they are. Cheaper than I paid anyway and I got mine on sale.

Can anyone recommend me some bib shorts?
I'll be probably hunting for rapha later in the sale, can't afford assos.
Anyone tried those dhb aeron bibs? They seem to be getting good reviews. -

I've got some Gore ones and they are the bomb. I frickin' love them, wish I could wear them all the time. On a friend's advice I bought them two sizes too small as well (which is partly why I like them- makes me think I actually am a size 34) so they fit brilliantly.

they all come with quite short inseam...i'd like something just before the knee for winter (hate 3/4 and would be boiling in full length)
gore seem to be slightly longer than others, might give'em a try -
• #370
I really like my Rapha ones, they're toasty warm and come down to below the knee.
-

Ada, I've got a pair of pearl izumi 3/4s that are too short for me (pinch at my knee pit) that maybe you'd...
edit: I just figured it out - just above knee, not just below. Anyway, this pair will be at the ladies bike jumble. Only worn once, washed.

too small for me:( i'm medium, but thanks
how come 3/4 come so short? maybe that's what i should get really, which model is that?
-
• #375
Jayloo can you put my name on those in pencil? Sounds like they might be the right length for me. Oh wait, I'm a titch so they truly the right length for me :-).
I've got 2- a carhartt one for in town when I'm feeling vain (it's a bit sweaty and doesn;t fold up small at all) and a well cheapo Decathlon one that weighs about 5g and rolls up tiny but ain't so pretty and is still a bit sweaty. Both do a top job of keeping the rain out though.
I know I should invest a bit of money in a good, lightweight, breathable waterproof, but I just can't bring myself to spend £100+ on what is basically a kagoule. (sp??)
Swrve's hoodie jacket is lush but they only make it for men and the only one that fit me round the hips was enormous over my back.
Which brings me onto my next problem- tights.
I've got a couple of pairs of decathlon leggings and they're great for long distance in the saddle but they just won't stay put when I'm off the bike/ out of the saddle for any more than about 2 seconds. I think it might be because they're cheap but more likely to do with my hip/ bottom/ thigh ratio, in which case bibs is gonna be the only way to go.
Any thoughts ladies???
