@ or398 get yourself up front and head off in a direction of your choice see how far you can get them
Tried that last time, worked for a while, but one should only do it for so long, and I got shouted down by beardy recumbent hippy man at a crucial point - he led everyone left at the end of Horseguards, toward Buck Palace. I wanted to go right, into town. As I feared, it just totally rucked up outside BP and I got bored and went to the pub.
But I'm not a misery guts (hey - haven't said that since I was nine), so I would come, but am taking missus out to dinner now.
Have fun

I once managed to get them to take me to the end of my road. Which was convenient.

Meh - last month was gash. I used to enjoy CM when you actually rode somewhere, but there's only so much enthusiasm I can rally for standing around with a ton of nodders getting off on blocking up big junctions. So no. But thanks.
I think you missed the whole point of the CM. Its not about the ride, its all about the DRAMA, and what better way to watch people going off there nut, by listening to music drinking beer and having a right old giggle with your pals. Oh yeah what about the girls gone wild on there bikes. CM rules, and if you think other wise then you are a grumpy old fart.

Im going to roll with it for an hour before shooting off to have dinner cooked for me by the missus, then entering a period of deep pre-Brighton meditation.

I'll probably drop by again. Black Pearson Touche SS..

May I point you in the direction of this
Starts at 19.30, so there's just enough time to go to CM, roll about and enjoy it for a bit, then get fed up with the slow speed and pointless winding up of people who just want to get home on a Friday night, then head to Haggerston park for general titting about on bikes.

John Snow > Mass > Skidz comp

That was thoroughly unenjoyable. In too much of a bad mood to deal with cars being driven into me, and kept getting shouty with people which i'm sure doesn't help anyone. And sod jacko - i can't cope with any more of his music without imploding..

John Snow FTW! Saw many hipsters trying to skid! So it was like the skid comp in front of us without moving!

Really? I had an extremely good time until I left (admittedly very early) along Park Lane to go to Haggerston Park.
I thought there was a good atmosphere, saw lots of people I know, and the Mass flowed nicely--great corking, not too many interruptions.

I was wondering where you were, that was early! You missed the ridiculous drawn out fist fight and the group getting thoroughly split up and disoriented before regrouping a little depleted, but finishing the mass fairly nicely nonetheless on Blackfriars Bridge.

Ah-ha, years of Critical Mass experience gave me a sense of the perfect timing when to leave--at the best moment. Only positive memories of this Mass. :)

It was all cool up until the Hardcore CM biker losers decide that lying spread out on London bridge for 20+ mins causing major traffic back ups is a good way of getting the message across..
No wonder there's more contempt towards cyclists from motorists..
Generally there was lots of cool people on the ride.
Doubt I will do another though.. -

Doubt I will do another though..Yeah it always brings a small tear to my eye having to watch innocent motorists stuck in traffic... I mean it's not really what you would expect in central London and lets face it all traffic jams are basically down to the behaviour of cyclists somewhere along the line.
Some times I think the causes of CM would be better served if instead of us all setting off in one big group we cycled around in single file perhaps at 10 minute intervals... that way we ensure that the cars can still maintain their 40mph average speed without having to look out for big groups of cyclists.
