• Me, crashing into a car doing a u-turn. In the hospital, hoping for a non-broken shoulder, wish me luck!!!

• Heal up soon guy. Happy it wasn't worse.

• Fucking broke my bike in two pieces!

• man, that's crap Johan - hope the shoulder is OK!

• Thats crap about the bike mate, hope your shoulder is okay!

• Ouch. Best of luck with the shoulder. BGR is a bit of a common-sense-free-zone for drivers :-(

• cars doing emergency u turn is one of the worst things, since they tend to swerve left then u-turn right, fooling you into going right which is a direct hit.

heal up soon man.

• Shit! Hope you're okay, mate.

And.. Hate to ask.. But.. Which bike?

• blimey late, at least you're alive, appear to suffer small injuried (small compare to broken hips, broken neck etc.).

• Ooh Johan's viewing the thread, I was about to say someone should give this dude a text to see if it's all okay. But hey, any updates?

• Home now. No broken shoulder, but a couple of broken ribs. My bike (rourke lo pro) was snapped into two pieces. Other than that I am ok, bruised and shit. But hey I will live!

The accident happened right after the intersection of Bethnal green road and Cambridge heath road going east. He was trying to do a u-turn standing in the middle of the road (bethnal green road), I slammed my break and tried to turn around him, missed by I guess a bit and hit the rear of his car. The by-standers explained it like I flew over the car and hit the ground, my memory is blank so I guess that is what happened.

I must say I was surprised by the by-standers. A girl on a bike came up to me and made sure I was ok, two other called the ambulance. They also gave me their phone numbers as witnesses. Going to the police tomorrow. Got all his details, so hopefully I will at least make sure he doesn't drive for some time. Kudos to the people there!

Going to sleep now, pain killers ftw! :D

• Heal up, dude... rough. :(

• i rode home through that junction tonight eek

sounds pretty rough. shame about the bike but sounds like you have your health... get well soon!

• It's all about the bike.

Glad to hear the shoulder isn't bust though! Heal fast.

• good to hear it's not too serious. heal up johan. bethnal green road is a magnet for bad drivers.

• Bad Luck Johan! Heal up fast.

Is this the infamous 731 bike?

Wasn't a fat idiot in a Peugeot 407 was it?
I got sent over the bonnet by one on Hackney Rd on Thursday.

• Ouch dude that sucks man, busted rib and no brian o rourke, I know which must hurt more right now!
heal up soon mate.

• Too many forumengers hitting the road!

Johan, sorry about the bike and the ribs.

Take the full dose of painkillers. Tomorrow, they are going to be worse, and when the muscles around your ribs start to spasm, try a hot water bottle it found it helps a lot.

Heal fast.

• Thank you all!

What is the best/easiest way to report this crime, is it to call that number or just pop into a police station?

• prob best just nip along to the police station. you'll need a crime number to claim for insurance anyway. Did the twat stop?........and are you bust or bruised?

• Gutted to hear that Johan. Saw you riding the Rourke down BGR a few days ago. You won't be the only who'll miss that bike. Heal fast.

So what did the driver do after the collision?

• And what everyone else said about BGR. Dickheads everywhere.

• search for the 'in case of an accident thread' should be lots of info there.

Bethnal Green Police Station
12 Victoria Park Square
Tower Hamlets
London
E2 9NZ

If you can move get there as soon as you can, before they get busy, it would be good. Show them the bandages, scars, blood, whatever so they take it seriously. Moan and wince with pain, you probably won't have to fake that. It also means they can check out the car/driver to see if his/her details are correct and if they have form.

Ring up the LCC about legal advice on Monday 020 7234 9310.

get better soon.
