  • Any advice on stopping using only the back wheel?

Everything else about riding fixed has been the best fun ive ever had on a bike!

Been running fixed for only one week now and have droped the back brake of my plug though struggling to stop effectively with just the wheel, especially down hill (scary stuff)

Keep hearing the mention on skidz, will this come as my strength needs to build up in my legs?
Am I cool to be clipped in so early into my fixed career?

    Cheers..............

You will find a way to brake.

Still one of my favourite ever threads.

  • Are you totally certain that you should have removed the back brake before you learned to stop? Just seems a bit "putting the cart before the ambulance" to me.
