Everybody should have a basic set of tools and and be able to use them for standard jobs on their bikes.
15mm wrench, Allen keys, tyre levers at the very least.
Not being able to be self-sufficient is lame.Of course no-one would begrudge you not having a thread cutter in the toolbox or not knowing how to face your bb.

For however much it was you paid to get the puncture sorted you could have bought 'the right wrench'. :)
i had an exam and i dont have the right wrench

basically I'm loaded why should I do it myself when I can pay and make my life easier.
Is that the answer y'all looking for
I understand that when someone asks a question you have to answer it like you are better than everyone but some original content would be great

Nothing is over until we decide it is...
Hmm.. where was that quote from?
'It ain't over until the fat bloke posts the last post (and wins).'
At least on this forum.

Whats with all the tyre threads recently? I mean, I loves a good tyre thread I do, but this one takes the biscuit.
I never get tyred of this sort of tread.

Fair enough. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of being able to call my chauffeur when I get a puncture and I'm miles away from the nearest bike shop.

That's all well and good but what happens if you puncture when you're nowhere near a shop, or it's late on a Sunday evening?
A little bit of self sufficiency would result in you being able to fix a puncture in 10 minutes and not waste £10.
Your sneering attitude, so ably demonstrated on this thread, suggests that any lesson you learn you have to learn the hardest way.

'basically I'm loaded why should I do it myself when I can pay and make my life easier.'
serious twat !!!
Do so. It's a good way to get to know others to ask about borrowing tools and general mechanical stuff - there are quite a few of us out west with spanners galore and knowledge to share. All for the low, low price of beer. Cheaper than your lbs.
