  • Ok i bought a bike a while back typical bike ss/fg
was a bit worse for wear so i took it to be serviced in putney cycles,
they recommended the tyres they put on very highly (michelin kevlar somethings)
to cut a long story short they are crap and have given me an unbelieveable amount of punctures. most recently changed the inner tube today went for a half hour stroll ends up i get another one...

can anyone recommend me some 700c 23s that will not do this to me ^^^

  • There are many other reasons that you might be getting punctures..

What psi do you pump to? Do you check for sharp objects lodged in the tyre after each puncture? Rim tape? Do you make sure the tubes are properly seated?

  • Are they michelin gator skins? If they are your probably doing something wrong as I've not had a puncture with them on my bike for about a year and a half.

take the tyre off and triple check the outside and inside for anything (even really small) that might be poking through.

also make sure your inflating to the right psi. this will be on the side of your tyre. normally 120 for 700 -28

  • If only there was some kind of search function where, if you typed in the single word 'puncture', it would produce a list of 17 threads on the topic...

Pump to 110-120 usually and i didnt install my tube today as i had an exam so i just picked it up off of the bike shop - didnt check for glass or anything thought they would i guess

  • I doubt they're Michelin Gatorskins, since they don't exist ;) *Continental *however make some decent tires that by some great coincidence they also call Gatorskins.
Also, Bontrager Racelite hardcases for 23c

  • Oh FFS there's even a tyre thread active at the moment.

  • if you don't want punctures, and thats all you're concerned about get specialised armadillos, never had puncture with them and they are nice to skid on, although not the best in the wet, bnut even then i haven't had any problems.
ignore radius and don't brontrager racelites, they are shit

    oh and htfu and utfs

    ;)
    always wanted to type that

Understand? Understand? That's just fucking typical. I don't want you to 'understand', I want you to take ownership of your part of this relationship. For fuck's sake. you're supposed to be a man.
For once in your life can you not try to act like one?
    And as for your family...
