I have a friend or two I could try and contact.
You’ve got my WhatsApp I think.
I’m not trainer certified anymore but I’m pretty OK at it. -

Any suggestions for a first aid course in London? I want to take one for work but have no idea what to look for to be honest so advice on what is and isn't likely to be a good use of time would also be appreciated. I've got absolutely no experience either if that makes a difference.

St. Johns ambulance did/do courses from what I recall when I looked a few years ago. Should give a reasonable grounding. If looking for work, then there’s usually an “Emergency First Aid at Work” course/qualification/certificate of participation that can be undertaken. I’m afraid I don’t have suppliers (ours are organised through work) but seems to be done by paramedic trainers but not sure if ambulance service, St Johns ambulance or other affiliated party I’m afraid.
The course is good though for the basics, and is pretty widely recognised by most U.K. employers from my experiance

British Red Cross course I went on was very good. Have had to use the stuff I learnt a couple of times, I’d recommend it.

Thanks both. Those were the 2 that came up first on Google, sounds like I can't go too far wrong with either!

You can do mental health first aid courses as well . Another good life skill.
Pity I'm not in UK any more - I'd have done it for you.
A first aid course will cost £350 a day - maybe a bit less if you get someone who is desperate for the work.
Personally I'd ask for a bespoke course for a day - Basic Life Support (CPR), heart problems, fractures, and a lot of practice around scenarios of what could happen on a bike ride. I would choose a provider who has proven experience of training these things ( which will probably keep the price high).
Drop me a line if you want to discuss in more detail.
