Cheers chaps. I had actually looked on google maps to see if I could find distances for a run into london but wasn't sure what was rideable etc.

Go to www.TfL.gov.uk and look in the journey planner, click the "I want a cycling only route" button and it'll generate you a map in Adobe Acrobat format (PDF). Acrobat Reader is free to download from Adobe if you don't have it already. For a long journey, best to break it into sections. You'll find the bits that are easy to learn/feel good to ride and then use the journey planner to fill in better routes around the bits you don't.

Also, buy yourself an A-Z of London, one of the medium sized A5-ish sort, cos the mini ones are just too damn small to read in the dark under p1ss-poor streetlights when you're lost.

And go to West drinks. Like I did. And then find they moved it to a different bloody pub. Still, made for plenty of cycling. And they did good burgers at the White Horse too.
