  • Didn't notice a difference really.

    you must have got lucky.
hyde park corner was insane. some ped tried to throw herself under my bike - not unusual but this was practicaly halfway round the roundabout and about 50 metres from the ped crossing. genius.

  • My wife's first day at work after several months maternity leave.
Watched her cycle away with some trepidation.

  • ^ You mean you didnt get up with her and cycle along side to make sure she was ok.

    Booooo

  • I'm with adoubletap on this one- SE22 to SE1 was no different to normal

  • ^ I'm going to move house. W5 to soho sucks.

  • rolls over and gets back 'to work'

    ftfy

  • I left a bit earlier so it was pretty clear for me. Noticed more bikes than usual and more people at bus stops but nothing like the chaos of last time (wait until 6pm tonight I guess).

  • ftfy

Its where I do my best work.. or something equally hilarious and innuendo laden.

  • Bit busy, but not as bad as last time - for us.

But motorised members of staff are all late this morning.

  • what i want to know is where the hot holy heck are all these cars going to get parked once they get here?

could just leave it in a jam for six hours, doubt anyone will notice.

  • Traffic was terrible in SE this morning. Looks like Rotherhithe Tunnel was closed, as well as the extra cars on the road.

  • I'm surprised as S.E has only a very limited tube service.

  • My boss walked in today. 1.5hr. Respect to her.

  • I spoke to a guy who had been knocked down on the corner of roman road and globe road this morning, nasty lump on his head and a damaged bike, looked pretty shaken up. The woman literally drove into him when he was turning right, she must have gone early and agressively. Not sure if he had any witnesses and the woman wasnt around when I was there. He was heading to the police station round the corner, hope his head is ok!

  • Spot the fail sign...

  • I didn't realise it was a tube strike until I got to work. Was wondering why it was so busy on the roads.

  • I like strikes, strikes are good (not only for improving work situations but also for promoting biking :) )

  • It took me 1.5 hours to get in today - and it's an hour ride.
I forgot it was the tube strike and thought it was some kind of noddergeddon - couldnt understand so many cyclists in the rain.
    horrendous.

  • Noddergeddon.. Love it

  • I'm thinking that needs to make it's way onto a T-shirt! Shades of Pratchet/Gaiman: the 3 riders and the one walkenger of the Noddergedon......

  • i went along the thames canal path on the mtb this morning, surprisingly quiet

from putney to central london on the roads was hell

saw a dustbin lorry pull out with no indication and narrowly miss two cyclists - am guessing he was just frustrated at the lack of gaps in the traffic

cars driving bumper to bumper making it difficult to filter (stupid wide bars on mtb)

  • Wee bit hairy but quiet roads FTW. Once I'd steered off Pentonville Road it was pretty normal away from the Euston Road this morning.

    Some top shoaling though.

  • LESSON: ride in the middle of the lane and get used to giving the finger to anyone who honks their horn to get you out of the way.

No this is the antagonistic behavior that leads to hate and strife. Keep the car door distance away from the kerb/parked cars. Roads are very dynamic so its your responsibility to know what is going on around you. As opposed to the blanket approach: I'm just sticking in the middle of the lane.

  • Today the roads were full of either people who drive or ride at weekends. The missus is one of these. I offered to ride alongside her but she declined and made her way from Hammersmith to Green Park. I received the "chirpy" text message announcing her arrival at the office and promptly called her. I was met with a barrage of abuse directed towards "clueless" cyclists who apparently have no idea where to point their Boris Bikes.

Still, as Hippy says, 18.00hrs should bring about some entertainment.

Ride safely, unless your name's Steven Gerrard.

  • ^ You mean you didnt get up with her and cycle along side to make sure she was ok.

    Booooo

Would have loved too but had the three kids to look after.

So impressed, she punctured on the way in - changed it and got into work with 5 mins to spare.
Then patched th e spareat work!
    Well impressed.
