Was a good ride and we'll do it again next July. So what's on closed season?
Cricket ground ride anyone? Gloves and pads mandatory.

Oval to Lords and back taking in Portman Square (where Thomas Lord first organised cricket).
Boxes in your bibs.

This may be of interest to football riders. It's a much longer ride, but takes in all the football grounds within the M25:

For all those that missed this ace ride(and of course to those who attended), I'll be planning another around the same time - end of July, highly likely it'll be the final Sunday of Le Tour de France to get the last stage
I also wouldn't mind trying to squeeze Wembley, the home of football into the ride too, we'll see....

^ nice one G. was a nice ride last year and linking it in with the final stage of the TdV would work beautifully.
yes to wembley (start there?) but still no selhurst park ;)

Last stage of the TdF is 25th July it's also the day after Dunwich. How about the day of the world cup final, 11 Jul?

the post ride beer will be nigh on impossible on the world cup final day
try parking 15 bikes in a pub on the day of the final they'll just get jumped on by silly football fans or is that pub near highbury always that empty ? -
• #415
Dilemma's....
We'll never get in any pub for the WCF and 25th for the TDF sounds fine but I fancy doing Dunwich and I know some potential riders for The Football Ride will be doing it too. Hmmmmm, decisions......
Could maybe try Sun Aug 1st?

The game kicks off at 7.30 in the evening, I guess the ride won't finish any where near that late, dunno if people would stick around to catch the game or have a few post ride revivers then head off to watch wherever they normally watch football.
I'm discounting the slim possibility that England make the final cos if that happened any pub with a TV will have people queuing round the block from the night before.

OK, list of possible dates:
Sun July 11th - day of WCF, 7.30pm Kick Off
Sun July 18th - No problems, yet...
Sun July 25th - day after Dunwich so could be tricky
Sun Aug 1st - No problems, yet... -

if we do wembly in addition to last times route we are gonna finish late
when cliveo said he was going to chat to the nice people at chelsea how deep do his contacts lie ?

1st Aug may run into pre-season friendlies. I'd bet that it'll be the Emirates Cup on that day (yep, just googled it).
Crowds prob not as big as on a proper match day but security will be tight. Not sure how they'd take to a few dozen bike turning up outside the ground.

Oh FFS! Arsenal can fuck off!
Didn't we wanna do a few sprints round The Emirates too?
How about Sun July 18th?

18th? Well we usually play Barnet in a pre-season round that date, we were going to Underhill weren't we?
-
• #424

Right, is Sun 18th July good for peeps?
I wasn't in London for that one though, looks like a good ride, but not good enough to travel 400 miles for ;)
