OK You bunch of layabouts. I have put together a route as follows...
Barnet > Tottenham >> Leyton Orient >> West Ham >> Charlton >> Milwall >> Palace >> Fulham >> Chelsea >> Brentford >> QPR >> Arsenal
The total route according is here
is 112km. However, I forgot to add the bit from Fulham to Chelsea beofe going to Brentford and I couldnt work out how to insert it, but its quite simple.
The route will be 120km, which is pretty far, especially in London. So if we want to do this need to be sensible about what time to start. Note we finish at Arsenal, so maybe a few beers in Upper Street area afterwards as this is fairly centralish
Opinions please?

the "doog" absolute legend only player ever to come to come to Highbury, and get a bigger cheer than Charlie George (only just!)
Piss poor season? are you sure? FA cup semis, Euro semis, top four, not owned by an oligarch, Shermans! Great youth policy, wage structure. You should've gone when I was a kid. It all drives me mad now, but like my mate says it's a life sentence. Ex Northbank and occaisonal glory fan.

mike, only 112k?
Should be a nice recovery ride.

mike - if we went over Battersea Bridge and then Fulham Road rather than Putney Bridge, it would take in Chelsea and be less distance.

Mate, thanks but check the OP, we've decided to edit the ride a bit, starting at QPR....also check the routemap that Rob M put up, # 99. We're going anti-clockwise and finishing at The Emirates, missing out Barnet, Leyton O, Brentford....

ok no probs. Probably for the best as 100km+ through London may take some time. Dissapointed that you are missing out the team of my Birthplace though. :(

Football fans are bonkers out there. Mrs G and I had 2 months in Argentina and Chile last year (Nov and Dec). Didn't get to go to La Bombanera but did get to go see River Plate vs Huracan at El Monumental, and then got back to BA just before Christmas and blagged tickets for the final play-off game (the play-offs were between 3 teams) between Tigre and Boca at Avellaneda (Tigre won on the night but Boca took the Apertura on aggregate).
Couple of my mates were over there DJing about 12yrs ago, they were taken to Boca v River Plate by the owners/promoters of the club. Said the whole day was charged to fuck, got to the ground 2 hrs before and the place was heaving....baking hot and everyone in shorts, flip flops and tops off...and they were the 'lads'!
They were in the ground 30mins before KO and the place was packed, singin, argy bargy with the away fans etc then suddenly the whole stadium started singin this particular song, away fans too, everyone jumping up and down in time and they could feel the stadium shake. There Argentinian hosts said to them "Keep your head down" and escorted them to the back of the stadium...
My mate asked what was up...
Apparently the whole stadium was singin an anti English song with lyrics such as "Kill the English pigs...."We shit on the English" etc...Which was nice

Strange bunch down there. Imagine if we started singing that here. We would be banned from every competition forever

Wolves FFS?
Derek Bloody Doogan?
I dont know anything about your so called "football".
My cousins live in Staffordshire and I inherited the team from them. I am not amused.
-
• #142
Stoke and Port Vale are in Staffordshire.
Wolves are in Brum - the land of the tanktop.
-
• #143
Wolves are not in Birmingham, Wolverhampton is the Black Country, same as West Bromwhich, any Wolves or WBA fan would be insulted if you said they were from Birmingham
-
• #144
It's all the same. Somewhere off the M6. Speak the same as well. It's a bit like a Slade video up there. All funny accents and tanktops.

Piss poor season? are you sure? FA cup semis, Euro semis, top four... [quote]okay you win, i was in the north bank for many years.. happy to roll up at milwall anytime if you want it's been a while since i was within sight of New Den i'll wear my TOFFS 1971 cup winners shirt too.. and i'll ride up to crystal palace, over the hill... i am not however riding to the Molineux (Wolves), fans locally known as yam-yams or balkis.. i am assuming everyone is wearing a club shirt for this, and buying pies on route.. ??
