Hills i enjoy (?) in Brum :-
Park Hill in Moseley. Relatively traffic free, would make a great City Hill Climb
Rose Hill in the Lickeys. I prefer the ramp up from roundabout, followed by the loooong descent to Barnt Green station via Twatling (!) Rd
Lea End Lane. Bit further out, would make a great country hill climb. Relatively traffic free and has a 14% section at the top with warning sign at the bottom. The Peacock Pub at the top too. -

I'm thinking about the route. Need a couple more suggestions for really steep hills and I need to reccy the dry ski slope hill to see if it's steep enough.
I reckon finishing at the Peacock Inn near the Lea End Lane point would be good
EDIT: will check out Park Hill moseley

Looking at it, I think Russell road would be harder
-
• #80
:-S Russel Road barely qualifies as a hill
-

Depends what you're after with Park Hill vs Russel Road. Park Hill is shorter and steeper, Russel Road is longer and draggier. Power vs Endurance !
Edit - What Pastry Lover said

and it's less than a mile long!

Yeah, neither are that big. They've been cut.
Hagley wood Lane in the Clent Hills looks like a better option.
That gives us an evenly spaced ring of hills and about a 40 mile ride. Start somewhere central, then races at each of: Powke Lane, Hagley Wood Lane, Rose Hill, Lea End Lane. Recovery pub lunch at the Peacock Inn.
We will need a volunteer to start the races at the bottom of the hill while I note down finishing positions at the top. MotherGirl?
I'm going to put a provisional date on this now as well:

All riding the same gearing, right?
-

What ratio you have on a fixed setup is up to you. There will be two classifications though, singlespeed/fixed and geared. I think polo bikes should be excluded.
-
• #92
I'll be up for this - I'll be on the raleigh with gears though

Just realised bonfire night will be happening in the evening following this. A prize for the winner might have to be a firework!

I'll put £5 on pistaboy to win, if anyone will take it...
