  • Is it going to be on ITV4 again this year?

  • =Sparky;740343]Hinault and Armstrong are having a pop at each other;

That argument is so ridiculous, how can they be compared, or even think of being competitors. It was different times, different riders, different technologies.

In their day they truly were (are the best) in their day ... 'nuf said.

Even if Merckx and Hinault look wonderfully well fed these days, I'm sure they could still thrash 99% of cyclists on the road!

  • I'd take Merckx.. up hill.. the fat git.

  • I ridden some of these cols, epic stuff.. Cormet de Roseland is a ride from hell goes on and on and on...

if anyone is heading to Mont Ventoux, give me a shout.. willing to share driving / fuel costs.. bring bicycles..

    Boast post...

  • Toast post

  • These are the bumpy days I'm riding..

    Saturday 11 July: TdF – Andorre-la-Vieille – Saint-Girons
Our first day of riding and what a way to start. An easy ride to Saint-Girons to
see the finish of stage 8 of the Tour de France. Soak up the atmosphere and hype
    that is “Le Tour”.

    Sunday 12 July: TdF – Saint–Gaudens – Tarbes
Leave early and head towards the Col d’Aspin. A warm up ride to the base of the
col and then climb on the course to the top and watch the race unfold up the
    mountain.
    Col d’Aspin – 1489m. 12kms @ 6.6% av.

Monday 13 July: TdF – rest day
Drive to Bagneres de Bigorre. Ride through Campan and St Marie de Campan,
up through La Mongie and to the summit of the mighty Col du Tourmalet.
Return to Bagneres de Bigorre which is a spa town. Take a mineral spa if you
wish and have dinner on the way home.
    Col du Tourmalet – 2115m. 17kms @ 7.4%

    Wednesday 15 July: TdF – Vatan – Saint-Fargeau
The day starts with a drive to the drop off point at St Béat, then a warm up
through the spa town of Bagneres-de-Luchon and a climb up the Col de
Peyresourde and return. It was on this stage last year that Cadel Evans fell and
Stuart O’Grady along with Jens Voigt dominated the race.
Maybe Mick will show us his culinary skills tonight!
    Col de Peyresourde – 1569m. 15.27km @ 6.1%

    Col d’Agnes – 1570m. 17.6 km @ 5.2%

  • How postal do you think 'Cuddles' Evans is going to go this TDF?

  • poke him in the shoulder or kick his dog while you're over there Hippy

  • How postal do you think 'Cuddles' Evans is going to go this TDF?

He'll win this year.. coz he knows I'm within arm reach.. htfu Cadel.

  • poke him in the shoulder or kick his dog while you're over there Hippy

    Ha! You read my mind!

  • I have a feeling that Evans could surprise us this year. His attacking on the Dauphine might be a sign of a changing mental attitude.

  • I refer you to his wife's comments..

It’s easy to say ‘you never attack’ when you sit on the couch watching the race on television; Cadel is a consistent rider that does all he can when he can. If he doesn’t attack, it simply means that he can’t. If he did in the last few days, it’s because he obviously felt good. It’s not that hard to understand!

    She's alright.. I'd go there.. :)

  • .

  • tubs will be sectioned under the mental health act before he finishes the tour.
he's a danger to himself and society.

  • Like most Aussies then?

  • i wanna see live data on the screen from the riders computers and HR monitors, like with some motorsport.

also blood tests before every stage so we can RBC or haematocrit, like the F1 publishing fuel loads

  • i don't. i want to see no race radios and i want to watch racing not a computer game.

  • I want telemetry AND no radios.

  • I want a race I can believe in. I'm not holding my breath.

  • I believe I can fly.

  • What TV channel will this be on? Will I have to line Mr. Murdock's purse?

  • cyclingfans.com for a live feed.

  • Sky+ is teh s3x
