You mean mean spirited and a bully, that kind of human?

I have to agree- Lance seems quite human on this tour,
I agree: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/more_sport/cycling/article6725620.ece

He may well be the strongest athlete in the world, but I sure dont like his style, no sir!
I find his bouncy climbing style and cheesy shooting gun/wink salute enough to make me want to throw my tv out the window. I'm sure he's a lovely guy, but every time I see him smile at an interview I want to see all his teeth smashed into tiny pieces. Armstrong now seems quite agreeable in comparison.I know what you mean. But I quite like the finger-banging. I bet he finger-banged the podium girls later too.

I was talking about Armstrong with a friend at the weekend. He'd have done his public profile a lot of good if he'd ridden for Contador from day one as it was clear that Contador was the strongest Astana rider. The positive press would have been amazing if he had done so, 7 time Tour winner as domestique deluxe type headlines.
Instead he chose to try and undermine Contador with every single utterance until the Verbier stage where he had his arse handed to him on a plate. He then looked mean spirited and petty.

Yes, this is very true, and now contadors the arshole for attacking on wednesday. Maybe theyre both arseholes, yeah ggrrrrrrr, bloody Spanish and Americans with their attitudes. Wiggo for the best attitude jersey! What colour would that be?

greasy, hopefully wiggins gets to rest a bit before the ventoux stage and recover and put up a good fight, I think he can take that 11s out of lance
I doubt it. So far all he has done is get dragged up the climbs, so i cant see him attacking Lance.

Have you actually seen any of the race? Armstrong has successfully attacked Wiggins just once, on Wednesday's stage. In all the mountain top finishes so far Wiggins has finished ahead of Armstrong.

I wouldnt say he was *dragged. *He was looking well strong for a lot of it, the pyrenees at least. He did have a 'bad' day on Wednesday, but like he said himself, its not *that *bad when your worst day means coming 7th on an alpine stage!

Brailsford's comments were odd but do seem like they were directed at Contador. I hope he's clean.
Is it me or is the doping side of cycling being brushed under the carpet this year? You hear very little mention of Vinokourov, Ricco, Rasmussen etc. in the coverage. Sort of elephant in the room or unhelpful and irrelevant info?
If it is the case that there's a two speed race, between the clean riders and the dopers then why ignore it. To hear people say 'I'm glad Brad had a shit day, shows his clean' sort of undermines the performance of all those who do not have any bad days.

Vinokourov and Rasmussen have both been pretty visible in the media. Vino wanting to come back to Astana (and what that will mean for the credibility of that team) and Rasmussen wants to come back as soon as his ban expires on the 25th of july. and the reaction to diluca's positive at the giro has also been quite heavily criticised by organisers and riders in the tour.
i also found myself in slight disbelief at contador's performance yesterday; but that is more my flaw as a spectator watching a sport that i love that is also linked so closely with doping.

Ha! July 21st:
You want inside of life on tour? Here it is: I have something on my ass that will make next days very painful.

The Damian Hirst bike is on the front page of the Evening (sub)Standard; it seems the Butterfly Rights crew are appalled

I don't like the way the butterfly community has usurped the caterpillar population.

"Bono first approached me about the bike and described Lance to me as 'the greatest sportsman the world has ever known after Ali!'"
i think that sentence alone puts the bike by Hirst into perspective.
I'm sure this will get AndyP's backup, but I have to agree- Lance seems quite human on this tour, I suppose being the underdog helps him in this regard.
EDIT- damn you Hippy!
