Hushovd would be leading the green jersey competition even if Cavendish hadn't been disqualified. Winning it is about consistency and whilst Cavendish has shone brightly on 4 stages, Hushovd has been the most consistent.
Exactly. So there was no need to queer his opponents pitch in such an unsportsmanlike fashion.
If he had won it only on the road, fair and square then that would be fine. -

I bet wiggo is regretting being mildly dismissive of frank schleck's climbing ability yesterday. Still, good riding by wiggins.
-

i reckon wiggo might reclaim some places tommorow, but surely hes gonna loose them again come more mountains. hes good, but there are better climbers. i look forward to seeing the TT tommorow, cancellara is one of my favourites so itl be good to see him again.
yeah i dont like contador, your right to compare him to c rinaldo, i despise them in the same manner. but he is good, he almost seems inhuman, im yet to see him even look slightly tired, stressed or even out of breath. he never looks like he really pushing it.

-
• #1808
the crash was horrific, look closely both wheels are on the white line when he goes over..
That has happenend to me on a wet day, front wheel collaspes, no brakes just touched the white line paint, slide crash, road rash, snapped pedal, very sore elbow and hip.. walked home..
get well soon Jens..

There's some slomo footage of the Voigt crash on Youtube he was so unlucky; hit that bump just as he was shifting his hand from hoods to drops and front wheel on the white line. No chance :(Do keep up!

is this Ventoux thing still on on saturday?
-
• #1814
quote from Bradders twitter
"Thor Husovd, what can I say, after a certain persons comments today, Thor sticks two fingers up in a way that only Thor can. A true Gent"
Cav and Wiggo have a funny relationship, no? -
• #1815
is this Ventoux thing still on on saturday?
No, They've decided that it's too much of a climb (it'll be hot/wet/windy) so they are all going to the beach instead...

• #1816
what is it that cav has said about thor?
-

what is it that cav has said about thor?
utfs

• #1818
Cav told Thor to UTFS? He should HTFU FFS
-
• #1819
Sprinting these days is shit. Cav has no competition so Thor goes out on a break.. I mean wtf.
Bring back Zabel, McEwan, the old Thor, the old Boonen, Freire, McGee.. the old guard that could actually "fight it out".
Not so chatty now Wiggos disappeared down the GC are you Seldom? Even though I was rooting for Wiggo.. suck it :P
-
• #1820
ph. bring back Abdou, more fucking like. sprints that took out the whole bunch.
-
• #1821
Nah, the best sprints were those when all the big guns were close and then McEwen would just nip under someone's armpit and snatch it. He fucking rules.
-
• #1822
I am sure Zabel is having a great Tour this year. On one of the early stages they had a short interview with him where he referred to himself driving the 'fun car'.
-
• #1823
Exactly. So there was no need to queer his opponents pitch in such an unsportsmanlike fashion.
If he had won it only on the road, fair and square then that would be fine.Unsportmanlike? Everyone I've heard on it has said what Cav did was unsportsmanlike. I'm not an expert, but if professional cyclists, ex-professional cyclists, and cycling journalists think Cav was in the wrong (albeit, penalized more than he should have been), why do you blame Hushovd?
Cav was the one who has been gloating and moaning the entire tour (although Thor's green jersey celebrations are a bit over the top, but it seems more like a response to Cav then a gloat - that's the way I'm reading them for now, anyway).

What has happened to Popovych this year? I've no seen him at all? and what bout Vinikurov? did he get banned from the tour for life?
-
• #1825
Popo has been working for Astana. He's not so visible now we're in the mountains.
contador / operacion puerto, hmm interesting it didn't stick on him last time, but the suspicion is still there..
and apparently the UCI doping teams have been very busy the past week.. LA has been complaining on twitter that Astana have had more than there fare share of scruntiny.. ha..
