This years Tour is NOT finishing on the Champs Élysées for the first time since 1975.
The tour organisers put it down to "Health and Safety Issues".

I'm going to watch at least a couple of stages
Stage 8: Easy Ride from Figarol to St Girons to watch stage finish then ride home (approx 80kms)
Stage 9: Early start today as we drive about 60kms then ride the rest of the way and up the Col d’Aspin, to watch an important part of the race. -

I rode d'Aspin last year: lots of nice forest scenery. There's still a picture of me on the Wikipedia page for the Col d'Aubisque from that same trip.

Well, yeah, OK, OK!!! there isn't a heath anywhere near the Champs-Élysées, but does that mean they have to spoil everybody's fun??? I mean, it clearly used to be heavenly fields, but you have to go with the times, you know?

Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré 2009 - Go Cadel, won the opening time trial and is now going to blast the field apart on Stage 4. Looks like "wheel sucker" is in good form for another shot at Le Tour this year.

No ,I'm deadly serious. It's unbelievable really, next the EU will be telling them the riders have to obey the 30 kph speed limits through the villages!

They're going to ban rider radios on a couple of stages, and in car TVs for the DS's altogether. Interesting
