I think it's no accident that they design the Scissor to be usable as an everyday trick bike, after all it would be a bit of a drag to spend money on a bike that's fine for trick but not exactly comfortable on the ride home.

Yes, but designing for one thing sometimes compromises other things. What seems to have happened in this case is that is made it better.
I have had a fair few frames now but can honestly say the Scissor F+F is one of the best in terms of fun to ride and comfort.
Fun as it almost leads you into popping up the front wheel, jumping off of things etc, and comfort because it is bordering on one of your infamous sit up and beg bicycles :-) -

Off topic, but hows it standing still!!!

Yeah ! Weird !

just looks like the back wheel is leaning against the retro electric heater doesn't it?
-
• #333
i reckon it's the heater... anyways for the fork to run a brake you need a brake with a drop of around 70-80mm....

If you want to run a brake this fork :

Surprised that no-one has commented on how good these things are to ride. Went out this morning for first ride and it is a great frameset.
The geometry is spot on for me, handles quickly but still very stable. Probably because of the short stem combined with the long top tube.
I know it was designed for tricks but it turns out that it is a great design for general riding (especially good off road). Nice to have no toe overlap as well. The downsides are that even the small is big (fits me perfectly but I am 178cm so wouldn't usually have a 'small' and it is not great for standing and climbing but luckily I stay seated for most of my climbing.
Someone really knew what they were doing with the geometry on these (unless it was an accident!)
That someone would be Mr SuperTed himself....he designed, tested, prototyped, and rode all the pre-production models, Charge Scissor geometry is the best out there next to the 14bikeco ESB, and thats because Ted designed them both, and considering he pretty much led the way in fixed freestyle over here, as we know it today, i'm not surprised its absolutely amazing, they ride incredible.
Now.....if they had the exotic materials and geometry of the ESB, along with the few additional tweaks he added to that frame, then the scissor WOULD be the best fixed freestyle frame out there, however its not far off and you can't blame Ted for holding a little something back for his own designs eh?
I mean..... if you think the scissor is good, you should have a ride of an ESB, now that is something that will impress you ;) -

^the esb is like, 3 times more expensive than the scissor, right?
-
• #341
Blah, blah, blah...
^ He lives! ;o
Was having lunch in Chinatown earlier today and spotted a lanky lad walking past the window with his new Scissor F & (orange)F... Made me smile...

Shit man... bad luck : (

^yeah, it sucks big time. I wouldn't bother sending it back to wiggle though...if they haven't replied in 5 days I don't think they're very interested in dealing with the whole thing...since you're in portugal and postage back would suck, try to sort it out yourself AND make a terrible review on wiggle.
-
• #346
Thats shit advice.
Call wiggle and get them to arrange a new frame and to pay for the postage for the return of the damaged frame.
-
• #347
^he has already contacted wiggle.

• #348
Contact them again. and again until they sort it.

well, that'd only make the whole shitty situation a lot shittier. waiting for them to reply, and sending the frame from portugal, waiting for it to arrive, waiting for them to check the frame, ship a new one (or the same after they have corrected the dropout with a vice)......I wouldnt wait any longer to ride my new bike, but that's just me.

He paid for a frame which has arrived damaged, they will replace it or offer freebies. Why accept something which is not right.
