I am going to try Contact extra lights as they have a claimed weight of around 500g for 42c.
Never saw them on the Madison or Conti sites, are they a recent development?
Edit: Just looked on the Conti site and see them, higher max pressure, i think i shoulda had some of them but i really dont remember seeing them on the Madison site.
The Touring Plus's feel like they could roll over landmines n shrug it off though so the weight might be worth it.Edit2: Had a look on the consumer Madison site and the only 'Contact' they have is a 20" tyre, all other search results for Conact are either the expensive Top Contact or the City Contact.

Dunno how happy i'm gonna be with them, they weigh a fecking ton! And only go upto 58psi.
Nothing wrong with 58psi, the tyre is already hard enough at that psi, whether 23c need a lots higher psi to get it rock solid.
to put it simply, a car tyre only need 33-35(ish) psi to get it rock solid.

I think it's going to have to happen, it's currently sitting in Ruislip getting faced and reamed (ooo matron). The DIY headset press I made this morning was wasted, damn head tube.
Building it up tonight, tweaking my wheels and going for a ride round the block. An evening full of win.

Well I got the tube to the bike shop, talk to the mechanic for a bit and then go and pay. Look in my wallet and my debit card isn't in there. Fuck fuck fuck fuck, on the way home now royally pissed off with myself. Bollocks.

i'm thinking in a matter of months scissors will have replaced the popularity of plugs on every road..

Probably right. Let's hope they ride alright then seeing as very few have actually ridden one!

I doubt it, the plug will still remand popular for those who justwant a nice simple bike that they can ride away from the shop.
The scissor ifeel will be popular for heavy duty use (I.e. polo, trick etc.) but still a smaller majority than your typical everyday cyclist.

scissor fork fitted to my V1 volume cutter, seems good lots more bar spin clearance and hasn't affected the angles too much

Mine is here!
gunna be riding with a mess of parts for a little while though,
let me know if you find one...
