Apparently I'm elligible for the veteran's omnium which really made my week.

I'm only doing the girly bit though, none of that 25mile nonsense.

Jesus, that was a step up from Wednesday night track league. I rode the Veterans Omnium and did okay but it was fast as hell. The first event was a 500 metre sprint and I was up against two massive blokes whose thighs were about the same circumference as my waist. Lots of people were riding rollers between races, it was all very professional.

The 25 mile scratch race was fast from the off and I was shelled out after 25 laps or so I think. Illy did really well to hang in there for a lot longer. Good effort.

I think the two of us were the only people riding steel frames with normal wheels. Lots of carbon, alloy, 4 spokes and discs.

Stelle owned the Women's Omnium! She won the first event and just kept on winning after that. Let's hope you got some points, Stelle.

Totally rinsed!

Really tough, but a good learning experience; there are some v. fast people around.
