Just in case anyone is interested... I went for an all black build of Phil Woods and Mavic CXP33s with plain gauge spokes - also in black.
New question...
What is a light (and good quality) sprocket and chain? I was looking at some Ti-Nitride options as these apparently roll smoother.
Also... Steel Chris King or Titanium?!
@Koto - have you got any pics that you can put up?
thanks

Phil cog to match your hubs.
ti King - might as well!

nah, normal king... the ti has only a weight saving over the normal, and seeing as though you have gone for relatively heavy phils already go with steel...
looking forward to seeing this!
if you have gone full black wheels and its a modern burls assume you're looking at...
EC90 carbon forks?
toupe saddle?
thomson bar and post?
easton carbon track bars?
truvativ omnium cranks (all black ones)that would be fricking beautiful.
OR moots ti post and moots ti stem of course - i have a moots straight post going spare if you have money to burn

dura-ace cogs for the matching blackness of coure.

Good call on the Thomson stuff tilover, I was thinking of masterpiece post with a mtb stem to keep the stiffness up.
Forks wise... I was thinking either the Time Millenium Stiffs OR the EC90s, I think the Time's are a bit more rigid so might sway towards those.
Yep. it's a modern one, that's why I'm thinking the frame will be the Ti colour, and the the rest of the bike black, to pick out the black decals on the frame and to keep it looking smooth!
I will post pics up when she's completed!

the gloss black of the thomson always winds for me,
and the aesthetically the straight blade EC90's win every time

is that a custom frame frame? if so, what kind of geometry did you get?
-
• #36
aren't there a chunkier version of the ec90's ? or am i thinking alpina

yah. the aero version (gay on a non aero bike)

Go for Reynolds Ouzo Pro :)

I've got these on my black Fort and I'm not gay. Carbon track bars too.

@jersey - the geometry is based on a 58 cm fuji track pro, but with a 1cm shorter seat and top tube and a half degree slacker head angle to make it more comfortable for the road.
Yes, I did look at the Reynolds too. To be honest, I don't think there is much in the the choice between Easton, Reynolds or Time...

I wouldn't use one of the stems with the funky tightening system on a carbon steerer (not sure if the road stems use that, but my mtb stem does).I don't think you'll have a problem with the stiffness of a thomson road stem
I have level hubs on my burls ti. You will love the frame by the way. (ooh errr)
:)
