  • i defo want some bars done.
    not sure about the frame.

    what black you getting?

  • mate for me, please

    1. Rik
    2. Breakbait
    3. billybob???
    4. pistolero (f&f)

When you thinking of going up there?

  • so does anyone know what price they will do a frame for if 4 or 5 people are getting it done?

  • I need to get some bars polished and clear coated so can i add to the group? I don't think it would be beneficial to price but it would really help me out!

  • minimal order I think is £60, f+F id £45, and them cranks, bars, rims, hubs, from £5 to £15

  • I want for F + F too! Black but not matt though

  • Jusy spoke to them. Due to the work required to coat frames, they do not do bulk discount. It is £49 a pop for basic job.

  • ha! so how much will be some cranks?
do you have their telephone, please

  • I swear they used to do bulk didnt they?

  • hey there, the list still going?

i need some cranks blackyfied preferably glossy soonish. you guys still have a slot?

  • i'm out

  • ok then i take it the list looks like:

    1. reeen (crankz)
    2. Breakbait
    3. billybob???
    4. pistolero (f&f)

i am up for collecting the small parts south, souf east and or central ish even and get them to a_tex, no problem... as long as there is no frame involved (we can meet up there?) or so many parts, that i need a cargo bike, mind.

can do every remaining day this week or for convenience during next week. how does that sound?

  • this is not going well, come on guys, seriousely get back to me with the if and how and all.

friggen schnarchnasen all of you! (except rik of course)

  • ok, nobody got back to me so the list looks like this:

    1. reeen (crankz)
      2.

i will be heading to a_tex beginning of next week and see, if i can get my parts done with one of their batches rather then pay the single batch fee in full. i heard, it's been done before.

    ... get in!

  • last update from me as i will be heading out to armourtex tomorrow, wednesday, first half of the day.

i know billybob has bits to do, so get in touch for meet and pickup! other folks get in touch, if you find something that needs a bit of blackness and fits in my bag.

  • Anybody up for getting some stuff armoutex'd black in the near future (autumn/winter session) Thinking I'd like to get a frame in matte black.

  • Yeah as far as I know you can get metallic lacquers put over any colour at amourtex. I've seen a black paint with gold metallic lacquer at 14 bike co. Can't decide if it looks awesome or shit, it's either or real marmite job.

  • A couple of days.

  • Yep. pm heading over.

  • Yo!

Making good of my brompton project: I am thinking or geting the rear triangle / stem assembly and forks (re)powder coated black.

Now, my refurbishment project ideally has to be mad cheap, so if anyone these days was thinking of powder coating their gear in black, please let me know and let's see if we can get a deal...

  • I'm here veLLo, got some equipment needing a new face.
    frame without fork, 4 rims.

~~Great, maybe we could start a minilist? I just called Armourtex, I don't know what you are after (black gloss or black matt). I need gloss, but if there are 4 of us and I'm the only one who does not want matt, I will go for matt, it's not so important for what I'm doing.

I just called them, based on gloss black, and "several" parts, the guys told me it's a minimum of £48 + VAT, and it may go up a bit depending on the quantity of parts in the batch and what they are (cranks are not the same price as a frame, etc). It looks like we would need to go there with the parts to get a firm price and figure out how we split the cost between us. He started telling me typical prices for such parts (like £15 for cranks for instance) which defeats the point of doing a batch... It's just that they have a minimum charge, so it might not be that economical...

I was assuming that the more we were, the cheaper it would be but it might not be exactly like that. Should we start a mini list and see what's what? But I am not prepare to spend more than £25 total, as powder coating my part is total luxury and I can live without it. Sorry...

-veLLo : 1 brompton rear triangle + 1 brompton forks + 1 brompton stem assembly
    -1000archangels : 1 frame without forks + 4 rims ~~
