They look lovely.
First time I sat on one (albeit not a great fit for me) it was Sano's full-on hipster 650 spinergy (?) ratbike. And I was pissed on mead. But it felt really surprisingly nice, to me, someone that tends to ride traditional geometry bikes out of some weird idea that they're just proper. It felt so manoevrable and just great.

i will miss that little fucker. -

I giggled at someone's LoPro on a forum ride because, although it looked beautiful, I thought it was probably impractical.
Later on I parked my Jackson (a most comfortable and practical bike) next to theirs and realised that the riding position on the LoPro was no more extreme (and possibly less so) than mine.
I had to apologise for my misconceptions . -

You can teach an old dog new tricks. (That's as much aimed at myself as you, fruitbat)

Although I can see why people like the look of the actual bike - I think its pretty cool too, some (not all) people look really daft on them. All hunched up over the front of a diddy wheel.

look at scott (scot?)'s lo pro's .. two of the nicest i've seen.
next project is gonna be one inspired by them. -

Do many people still use Low Pros on the track? I've never seen one used there.
I found one in a shop at the weekend, proper classic Raleigh Team Banana, campy pista cranks, disk wheels, was very tempted but there was no chance it would fit me. Does anyone know how much something like that would go for?

Low-pros won't be allowed in proper races. UCI/IOC rules, innit. Just too wicked.

I love the way they look, but I can't ever imagine buying one unless I was earing 100k a year or something, I'm just to boring / tight. There scope is too narrow for me. For this reason I feel guilty about my BMX every time I look at it, narrow scope.

It's just another style of bike, and as long as it's set up well for the rider, there's no problem. Diversity FTW!

billybob, that's a big budget... you could any of the lo-pros in BLB for that, they have the Affinity lo-pros (naff) and some other modern ones too if you're inclined.
