How do you do that thing where you can send invites to folk in your own network for this event?
-
• #64
go to the event page and click on invite people to come under the flyer image, should take you through to your friends and then you can click on as many as you want to come and it'll send them an invite..

Out if the decks are Vestax, sorry
-
• #67
Really Graham? Vestax are wayyy better than technics though, hold their pitch better and higher torque, (assuming they're pdx2000's or whatever they're up to now).
-
• #68
Horrible, horrible decks to use, sorry Festus
-
• #69
Seriously though, i'm wondering, what is it you don't like about them, anything in particular, or are you just one of those die hard technics fans that won't use anything else?
-
• #70
Thinking i'm gonna make it down, hopefully with my missus in tow. It's just down the road, so would be rude not to!

Lets not go through all this again, we had about 8 pages in The House Music thread way back....
BUT the major factor with Vestax is you can't really play disco, boogie, soul etc on them(well mix it atleast)
Problem being all modern music(house, techno, d&b, hip hop whatever) is all made on computer and all the components are in time, therefore easy to mix using pitch control.
Disco, soul, boogie etc is generally produced using live instruments. To the ear it all sounds in time but when you mix with it, it's out cos 'people playing' live are not 100% in time.
While mixing that style of music aswell as the pitch one also has to rely on using your finger on the baseplate to nudge it back and forth....do this on a Vestax and you're fucked! -
• #72
I'm with you on your reasons but dude.. bring an hour set and just drop tunes in if necessary.. don't not play cos of the decks dude.....!
-
• #73
I'll prob come down but without records.
"If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing properly"
The job cannot be done properly on Vestax
-
• #74
it's beginning to sound like you just ain't got the skillz......
-
• #75
Bring some records G...we can play 3 each and combine our sets if ya like....stop you getting too stressed with the decks. :)
either answer will make you happy, won't it?
