Spotted this and thought of this thread.

I prefer the look of the Northwave spandals myself though. -

OK they're not sandles, but these shoes are seriously stiff and have fantastic ventilation (it really works). (They do a MTB version for those wanting to take a couple of steps off the bike).
Northwave areators. Also mine have the SBS (step by step) closure system. This is such an easy system to use. That you can tighten/loosen them one notch, while riding fixed (I always find I have to adjust shoes after about 30mins of cycling).

Don't care what you call them, sandals with clipless pedals are full of WIN.
I wore nothing but my Shimano ones all the way through a four week tour of the west coast of the States last year and they were the business. Mind you, I can recommend putting sun block on your feet for the first week or so...
Srsly.
my feet after 2 months in spandles

I need some spandals... I know but what can you do.
It has to be the Northwave sharks which I think are still technically shoes.
Anyone seen any to try on or know where to get them? Can only find these

Or, anything similar out there?

funny your feet remind me of the popular 90's icecream HB/Wall's Freaky Foots... I'm sure it had chocolate & vanilla ice cream. Will post a picture if i can find one.
So much wrong, yet so excellent.

why does one "need" spandals?
Because I'm cycling round Europe in the summer. Not taking my dominators and my Mavic Alpines will be too warm. Spandals have now become a need.
I figured it would be fine as long as I didn't tell anyone... -

I have a hankering for some spandals, every year I mean to get some and so far have not.

Not sure about Lake, read a review about them not lasting.
I'd prefer the Northwave Sharks if I can find them. Also, I'll be living in Oz after the tour so I think the spandal will be at home in the climate.
Good times. -

Bobshop.de was the only place I could find them, however they were very fast to ship and I got a free waterbottle, a very nice German man from bobshop.de also sourced some replacement straps for my Northwave mtb shoes for basically cost, plus postage. I have nothing but gut things to say about them.

That's a pretty good recommendation, thanks Clefty!
It's says low stock order soon. Wondering if it always says that? They do them here also

but not in my size.Anyone seen anything similar (apart from the lakes) though? I'm not 100% sold.

srsly considering getting some for summer..

I have to say that after some consideration an enclosed toebox seems to be desirable in order to avoid stubbing of toes/toe-overlap situations.

I concur. If 661 did those, my spandal life would be complete.
