have removed MOC entry as none of you were clever enough to notice that 4D4F43 is hex for MOC and so was technically already there. shakes head

LOT and LOG would seem terribly sexist if it wasn't Clefty that started it.
It could be worse, at least it;s not 'Bird of...'

Ok, I have just returned from Sainsbury and we are good to go for Friday- bar one thing.
Could anyone who has a camping lantern/other light source please shove it in their bags?
A bit of light would be handy.

I'll see what I can dig out of MOC's camping supplies - he is the Ray Mears of Colliers Wood - I'm sure we have a lantern, we might even have some flares..
-

As part of my Sainsbury and B and Q trip I bought a (very heavy) bag of sand, the intention being to fill some spare large plant pots with it for extinguishing fag ends- we could stick flares in those?
-
• #61
MOC has also suggested those cheapo burning lantern stick things that you can get from most garden places, that might be a better idea to stick into the plant pots
after asking I think I mistook his camping stove for a lantern..fail. -

Balls, my sister's over visiting this weekend hence LOS has already made plans for us to keep her entertained. Will you be coming to the track day?
-
• #63
I shall be- although it looks as though my only chance at doing an induction in time will be half eight on Saturday morning.
So I'll be watching and cheering others I expect!
What do you have in the way of Lanterns Aaron?
-
• #64
have a good eve, Neil, i have tried to come (not that i might have been invited though) but she (WOM) says no
-
• #65
Could you persuade her by extending the invitation to WOM?
Be good to see you (both, if possible)
-
• #66
WOM, woman of murtle, or should it be BOM, boss of ..........??
i will ask gently, over dinner this eve.
and likewise. thanks

Lanterns???? I don't think i have any. Not much call for them in my first floor shoe box.
Or am I just not understanding some elaborate ruse?

I thought being an outdoors type you might have some means of outdoor illumination- the roof terrace was fitted with "mood lighting", or as it's also known "useless lighting" by the designers.
So, some alternate form of illumination is required- I have fond memories of the gas lantern which we used when holidaying in France when I was a child for example.

i might have some of those "sun-jar" things. lights in a jar that charge up in sunlight. not sure how bright they are, but every little helps, right? heh.

i have tried to get LOB on board, but she can't make it.

Ah I see, tealights and plenty of Hi-Vis gear, sexy lighting FTW.

I have a kilo of lamb mince in my bag - all is well

Tea lights, hi-viz and lamb mince- it's shaping up beautifully.
I'll be pm'ing those who put themselves on the list tomorrow morning, then going for lunch and probably not returning to a computer, so those who want directions/address please make sure to update the list.
See you all tomorrow!
