This is actually after my L2P, so I might attempt it fixed. Not done any big rides fixed yet! I think about 30 miles is my maximum (no computer on bike)
EDIT: Are most doing this geared?

Can we edit the thread title to include date?

Went and checked out St Margarets yesterday but not by the route marked above. Really beautiful place on a sunny day. Hopefully the weather will be for us in August.
GPS would be ideal for the route and I am looking into getting a hand-held unit for next month. -
• #85
If not MA3K, I can get access to one, although two units on one ride would also be a good idea.
Spotted Tommy's cycle path alongside the M2 motorway bridge that crosses the Medway near Rochester, should be fine. I didn't actually ride across it, I was in the car.

are most people riding fixed or geared? I'll only have my fixed gear while in London. looks like there are some pretty decent climbs at mile 37 and 55 according to the gmap posted above.
-
• #94
What is the proposed departure time? I don't get back to London till the morning so might be a doubt for this now.

ah and i just got this date wrong.. fucking sunday! after a double birthday party.. i am going to be hanging off my back wheel!
I can't see it being that quick so i might go fixed
-

Fixed or geared, makes no difference. Come with any bike you like as we won't be leaving anyone behind.
There may be a few climbs but after watching the tour for the past three weeks I can assure you we are not going to be doing any 20 km ascents at 6-10%.
In the end anybody can do this distance provided they have a good meal the night before and drink and eat throughout the ride.
I propose to leave London at between 8-9 but no later.
We can be picked up along the route at any point South-East leaving London and I will put my number up closer to the day for anyone wanting to latch-on as we ride past. There are a good few hours of riding ahead and I want us to be able to enjoy the ride without too much pressure.

LFGSS by the seaside. Can't wait.
ah it is so beautiful out there. I did a walk Dover to Deal via St Margaret on Saturday for the second time. Not sure what it is like inland but it is quite windy around there.
