It would be nice if it had it's own identity, be reflective of London, it's people, it's roads, it's events, it would be nice if it was irreverent and sarcastic, like so many people here.....
spot on

Any specific God? I don't want to belittle your (or anyone else's) faith but is Thor as important as the Christian God?

Hm, perhaps some section drift (rough book equivalent to thread drift) is needed: Since when has anything ever stayed on topic anywhere on the forum? Loosen it up?
Dude I am surprised this thread has stayed on track this long! And only one minor internet tiff.
B.F.E. like it. When we had to use the London section on fixedgeargallery forum. Has anyone been on that recently? I remember chatting to dicki a bit on there.

I'm not a londoner (in manc) but I've been working on a body of photos for about a year all taken from the saddle (i was going t call it that but it's a bit shit... so haven't). It's not up online yet as I wanted to launch it as a cohesive and welln edited (the downfall of many body's of work) collection. I can send disk ect. if you want a look over them with a mind to including...

Fantastic idea. I'd like a page - photo of Hillbilly's mighty win at the Drag Sprints or something equally victorious and grand. £15-20 sounds very reasonable.
Don't mean to sound skeptical towards our collective skills, but producing a quality DVD should/could be a project of its own. Quick and dirty DVD shot on an iPhone packed with a nice glossy book would be wrong methinks.

Hi all.
Response to the LFGSS Book has been magnificient, from those who want to buy a copy as well as those who want to contribute.
PhotoBen and myself have got an email address lfgss.book@gmail.com which we'd like you to start emailing, with your thoughts/suggestions, and contributions. We're going to start contacting people in the next few weeks, to solidify the plan for getting the book into a working shape.Right now the plan is this. Myself and PhotoBen are going to form a core group of designers/production people to produce the book. We'll be contacting all those who've offered their services and we'll need you to send us some samples of work, or link to a website for us to have a look at.
For the record the book is going to be tilted towards photographic/design/ilustration work, so approximately 70% imagery, 30% text,. and will be covering the topics below, we may add in a couple more depending, and we'll probably have to commission a couple of new pieces of work as well, but right now this is what you should be having a think about in terms of where your piece of work/ photgraph/ design/ illustration/ text or prose should sit.
Polo
Drinks
Track
Rolla
Rides
Tricks
Fixing (Mechanics)
London's Famous London. (General London Riding)So those who have expressed an interest in contributing or helping out, could you email us at lfgss.book@gmail.com in the subject line could you put either ORDERS, IDEAS, DESIGN or SUBMISSIONS, just so we can keep track of who is doing what.
and put this form, filed out with the relevant information, at the top of your email,

Just want to re-itterate what corny said, start sending us your stuff asap. Any ideas, photos, text, bring it on!
Also really want to get the numbers up, so spread the word - anyone you think might be interested send them a link to the thread.
Anyone know anyone that would want to sponsor it - get their logo on the cover or something?

I think it should be called the LFGSS Bible and have tynan on the front cover..
-
• #218
I want the cover to be a hologram of his avatar. Shouldn't be too hard.
