More of a raffle than an auction, but I think this is a great idea.

The fee/subscription proposal only had 3 perks mooted:
1) Creating threads in classifieds
2) Creating social groups for hamsters
3) Virtually unlimited storage for PMs

#3 is kinda irrelevant as I already set the value so high you're unlikely to reach it.

I still think number 1 is a bad idea...

How about this one...

Legacy donations of the cycling part of your estate in your will.

Then all we have to do is get people adequately drunk and the money will roll in.

(Half kidding, I'd hate hate hate anything to ever happen to anyone, but the concept of legacies is an interesting one that charities use all the time)

You do realise that if anyone did leave a legacy, I'm dobbing you into crimestoppers as a suspect in the death. Naturally the forum will get a cut of any reward money handed out.
