  • some good deals on Olympus cameras at the moment in Curry's (yikes), with cheap kits and very reduced telephoto (£80); at least in Camden. Just try and avoid the 14-45mm lens (the 14-42 is much better, and the 25mm is very cute) if you can. Lot of camera and decent optics for your buck - and easy to carry.

Nikon and Canon obviously get you into a bigger system, but if you ain't a pro, that doesn't really matter - unless you like the feel of them more. People get very het up about this, but I think Edscoble is right - it's hard to go wrong with most entry-level dSLRs today.

EDIT: enjoy the d40. Just stuck this info up in case anyone else was hunting around for a camera.

  • Canon 350d + Sigma 28-200 lens and 2x2gb CF cards.

The body looks well used but functions perfectly.

    £220

  • anyone is good as a starter i think.

    ive got a 5dmkii

  • canon all the way lets do it

Canon FTW all my mates have Nikons and ive looked at them and me thinks there not as good but its personal preference really...

  • got a d40 a few weeks ago for £250 with a 18-55 lens from jessops.

go and feel all the bodies see what feels right for you.

Nikon and canon will be cheaper for 2nd hand and new lenses, sony are more expensive.

Also check out www.ffordes.com for 2nd hand (and new) camera bodies, lenses, filters, etc.

  • Has anybody got a colour photographic enlarger which they would like to sell to me?

    Thanks!

  • Theres one at my school Ill have a look if its in a serviceable condition... That will be on monday thow, im sure the would be delighted if I took it off their hands!

  • sweet, cheers man
