Anyone want to give me a new job for my birthday? I'm your man, if you need someone quite bright, quick to learn new skills, good attention to detail, but with fuck all qualifications and no obvious linear career progression; and a bit of a weirdo spazz.

@ tika - due to the fact that human episodic memory becomes more robust around the age of 4, this is probably the first of my birthdays that Tynan will remember. I've been bribing him all week with the promise of a present arriving in the post. It came today. It was a pocket microscope, and a book which includes some fun activities. We checked it out at bedtime. I asked what he thought of his present. He said, "Not good." I asked why. He said, "It's not Spiderman or Ben Ten".
So yes, I'm a bad dad :(
