  • Hmm, hippy you "haz" a way with bikes....and trikes.

Like a muppet I forgot to take pics of the Quest recumbent... amazing beast! Only 18 teeny tiny little bolts to take the lid off... Advanced (large animal) Gynaecology skills need to get at some of them... obstruction wrench, flexy drive, magnetic probe to fetch the nuts and bolts dropped into the "sump" of the beast... lovely!

Anyway, hopefully we've sorted out his knee problem and he'll be back to sub 18min 10's. Whee!

  • Can you get me doing sub-18 10s? Thanks. :P

  • Don't you already have a 'full fairing'?

  • full-fat fairing perhaps

  • Post some feedback as I am thinking off seeing Sheritt

What sort of feedback do you need?

Like does he "touch you" whilst dress in a one piece lycra outfit? (I am hoping)

  • If you're lucky.

No, he's very friendly and totally professional. It's almost like he knows what he's doing ;)

  • Got an appointment booked for a couple of weeks time, looking forward to seeing if he can fix my dead toes...

  • I went last week, I meant to post up some feedback here earlier but anyway......
Went for the full 3 hour fit on my road bike. Both Scherrit and Corrine are really lovely, I got there a bit early so we just talked about bikes over a coffee (I had about a litre of coffee while I was there). Then we carried just chatting about bikes while the fitting took place, the 3 hours really just vanished and suddenly I was out on my correctly fitted bike! I'm probably going to go back when I get some road shoes to get some cleat/insole fitting.
In all Scherrit made a lots of changes but its made a huge difference to how I'm riding, especially the power output as I had my saddle too low. It also has made me more aware of my riding position and any aches and pains I might have when out riding. It has got me very excited about doing lots of riding this summer, doing as many rides and sportives as I can.
So anyway I have to say for a 3 hour session it really is really exceptional value. I think the only problem is going to be the long waiting list for any future sessions!

  • Just got back from a fitting today - thorough is a huge understatement

lots of long term changes that will need a fair bit of riding to evaluate the effect but a very immediate outcome was the pain in my hands went immediately

they also have a gorgeous dog called fettler…

    very pleased.

  • Fettle's quite handy with a crank extractor I'm told.
Pity you couldn't pop in to the Chateu d'hippy. Next time gadget..

  • rode past your old gaff Hippy

  • Just got back as well. Echo everything above and more. Such a lovely, helpful and knowledgeable couple of people. Fettle was busy building a couple of wheels up in the kitchen when I arrived and then retired to bed.

Felt so much more powerful and responsive on the (drizzly) ride home. Looking forward to getting out on a decent run now.

    Thanks Scherrit

    Rik

  • Having just spent 20 minutes on the phone discussing pedals with Scherrit I would already recommend Bike Whisperer (And that's without ever having stepped foot in the bricks and mortar).

I'll report back once I've had been in for fitting and testing.

  • Spent a thoroughly enjoyable few hours with Scherrit and Corinne last night.

I was glad to find that most of my set up was pretty good, so we sent a decent amount of time getting my cleats dialled in. Felt instantly better, can't wait to go out and do some decent miles this weekend.

Also have some good recommendations for new compact bars...

    Totally worth it!

Stop wasting his time.. he has another bike to build me! :P

  • ^^I understand you popped round while I was there last night.

Knowing what your voice sounds like adds a whole new dimension to your posts.

He said that you'd cancelled your appointment you time wasting son of a bitch.

Hippy has a silky rich voice, very very thespian.

I wondered why Scherrit didn't come out.. it usually leads to a 3hr discussion on bikes and Mal wondering where the hell I've got to.

  • He said that you'd cancelled your appointment you time wasting son of a bitch.

Yeah because I was riding to Cambridge and wanted a bike for it.

But since my leg is fucked I didn't even get to do that.

    Massive arse biscuits. :(

  • Awww, do you want a cuddle?

  • Is now too late?

  • Meet you at the usual place?

  • Just got back from a fitting and agree with everything above, to say the least. Great people, great service, great dog, great place, and now I feel great on my bike.

Changed the seat position quite a lot, but didn't touch my bars, but riding home felt like having an extra 10% in my legs. Didn't really know what to expect, almost thought it was a bit ridiculous for me when I just commute for an 45 mins a day + a few hours on weekends. But just the joy of riding home was worth every penny. As someone said above, really got me keen on doing more and longer rides.

So all in all, I thoroughly recommend it
