  • A bump for Scherrit and Corinne as I'm gonna give them a try as soon as they can fit me in:-)

Their contact details could be easier to find on their website though...
    Just sayin

  • Can I give a bump for the dog... I lurv their dog!

  • do they reply to email? or is it just me...

  • He replied to mine pretty fast. He ignores email and phone when he's with a client, which is great when you're there as you have his full attention. The downside is it might mean it takes a day for him to get back to you. How long has it been? Maybe give him a call and leave a message.

  • over a week...call time I guess....thanks Gav.

  • It'll be worth the wait - I feel so much better since having been.

  • do they reply to email? or is it just me...

    Just you.

Fettle roolz, even though she runs off with my gloves.

I haven't actually posted here yet, so thought I should.
Since moving West, I pretty much live down the road - so Scherrit and Corinne have almost become my LBS!
I went for a cleat fitting a while back and he corrected a massive difference in leg length - the difference is quite scary and my power transfer has improved 80% at least. I'll post some pics when I can.
Scherrit is also an excellent mechanic and I now trust him with all the jobs I can't do myself - safe in the knowledge that I'm getting an excellent job done.

A massive +1 for the Bike Whisperer!

  • No joy on the phone this morning or from yesterday's (late) e-mail. Anyone know how long the waiting list is for a full fitting?

  • Still no reply and no one answering the phone :O(

  • beanpie, the great man was away last weekend as was Mrs Whisperer. He is back now and it is worth persisting.

Nice one clive. Fat-finger syndrome also a little to blame. Realised I was dialling the wrong number. Just got off the phone with Mrs W now.

  • Finally made it to Scherrit & Corinne's for my fitting.
Ed's review is pretty bang on, like a chat with (extremely well informed) mate, except that he tinkers with your shoes, saddle and stuff, rather than drink beer:-)

Though I've done a lot of riding, raced as a schoolboy and junior and worked in the bike trade into my early twenties (back in the day now...) I have been struggling with my cleat position and power transfer down my left leg for quite a while and had not come up with an answer. Scheritt's solution, which was counter to all my earlier training, I was taught the old KOPS (knee over pedal spindle) approach, made a huge difference and involved moving my the ball of my foot past the pedal spindle nearly 10mm.

I just would never have gone there and so would never have got to the fix without his help. It's amazing what 5-10mm adjustments do!

My saddle went up and forward about the same.

My feet feel a lot more planted as a result and my pedal stroke is on the way to becoming straighter (I had been pulling my knees out at the top of the stroke)

It all felt a bit weird as I set off but I have rarely been so happy to have 20 miles to ride home.
As I settled down spinning felt more comfortable and putting the hammer down there was a surprisingly big change, more than I had expected for sure:-)

Well he sure knows his stuff and the price is incredibly reasonable when you figure I spent over three hours with him and I needed relatively little done (no bars or stem changes etc)

And love the dog! Corinne reminded me not to step on him as he was hidden in a blanket keeping warm.

    Finally, one question:
Replacement Sidi Dominator cleat plates (inside the shoe), where do you get the from?
Mine are on the way out and SPD one don't fit inside the shoe and the holes aren't deep enough:-|

    Yikes, bedtime

    Cheers,

    Ivan

  • If you've wondered where the Whisperers have been..

  • Coincidently I was going to give this thread a free bump too as Scherrit was kind enough to reply to a pm'd question whilst 'down under'.

  • Nice- he convinced you in the end then.

  • Convinced me of?

  • Powertap to Zipp- you were talking about it last year, saying that Sherrit was "giving it the reco"

  • 808 is ok. 1080 no can do. Actually I need to get my other head unit back so I can test the bugger. Won't actually get any use for a while yet, just like the 404s.

  • Another happy customer here. Not only you get fitted properly on your bike but you also get a lot of cycling related advice. Very friendly couple, thanks Scherrit and Corinne!

  • Revisited last night to have some fun with a new bike.

I think Scherritt's objectivity (on parts/bikes) is what means I come coming back, and he's got a couple more electronic gadgets which make his fitting his fitting easier and quicker.

  • Finally had the road bike Whispered this morning. The new gadgets make the service even more fabulous but not certain about quicker as we certainly chatted up a storm!

Will be going back in May/June to get cleats, shoes and handlebars sorted. Woo hoo! Dun Run here I come! lol

  • No knee/calf pain today Big S.

I hope it's due to the adjustments you made yesterday and not the fact that I was too pissweak to induce pain ;)

    Hmm.. Di2.. ?
