Peer pressure is far more effective

No to the polishing compound. Unless you want to polish something. A strop is for stropping. Keep it simple.

Where’s this from. My cleaver is way too light
-

I have one strop to use with compound, another without.

Lighter the better no?
It’s from Burrfection, a compact version of the Tojiro DP vg10 cleaver.I’m considering the larger 225mm x 110mm blade version.

Can you make me one?

This came up in my Instagram feed. I have no idea if it works well but it looks impressive..

Yes it's great. If you can live without the wasabi name and just go with ruixin pro they are about £40 on ebay and less on aliexpress with some stones.

What sohi said, but also the nice thing about this vs the lansky is you get a clamp and there is less restriction in the left to right axis.
On the down side I assume the built in restriction is to maintain the angle, and you have to set the angle yourself rather than having some default ones.
Also its a bit of a shame that when their charging so much for a rebranded generic item they didn't go to the effort of adding a mechanism to measure the angle. -

I been waiting on chance to buy this having thought about it too long last time and missed out on the stock... it arrived today and is super sharp and feels nice & solid.
Turns out it's a Boker branded knife I think it is made in Japan on their behalf, but possibly not here?
Not the best pics.

My waterstones weigh about half a kilo each or more. How long do the diddy stones supplied with these kits actually last?

I got my brother something very similar (but not Damascus) for his birthday one year and he reckons it's the best gift I've ever gotten him. I'd like one for myself but my girlfriend already thinks I'm a weirdo for having 2 folding knives, she'd probably get freaked out if I bought another (she might have a point).

I got something similar not Damascus cheap and cheerful for sharpening coloring pencils. Great little knife.

She would if you bought her one too?
+1 to what ChainBreaker says also...

Nice. I like the darker handle over the brass I think.
Nice. I have all of these things. Now, white or veg tan leather? Do you use polishing compound?
