Had a discount code so worked out a tad cheaper than listed. O yeah I think a mate has the Quattro which he rates highly.

Have the RS11 got wider yet? If not I would look at something else. RS11 are easy to service but they need doing fairly regularly if you want the hubs to smooth until the rim wear outs.
For narrow rims Miche reflex wheels are pretty good. They are fairly heavy but use a cartridge bearing hub that can be renewed to as new condtion when bearings wear out. You cant do that with a shimano wheel. The miche wheel also get more spokes that the shimano wheel and is stiffer.

I'll soon be getting a set of wheels with Novatec D711SB front hub. They'll be going on a bike with a regular QR disc fork.
Is there any real benefit in getting the 9mm QR adapters and 9mm QR skewer, compared to regular 5mm QRs?
Edited to add links.

Just ordered Superstar ARC 31 for 150 pounds with code MONSTER50.
As the wheels I have right now are shit this should be a real upgrade. -

Have the RS11 got wider yet?
No but it's reasonably wide enough at 15mm internal, honestly at that price point, it's an amazing wheel.
One thing I noted is that the cone is a gnat bit too tight out of the box, they feel MUCH better once you adjusted them a bit.

that is true about the cones and will contribute to the early wear on the hub that I see on and off.

I just tried this and the promotion doesn't work? Are you talking about these http://www.superstarcomponents.com/en/arc31-ultrawide-wheelset.htm
-
• #7459
No, these: http://www.superstarcomponents.com/en/arc-cx-ray-probuild-volta-11speed-clearance-dealx.htm
No Idea about hub difference. Better than my cheap OEM wheels with shot cup and cone bearings. -

Good deal that, I think you will like them a lot.
-
• #7461
Good to hear that! Also nice that I can ride the current wheels to death and get a boost in spring.

Do we know if you can take the decals off these? Might have to treat myself too as it is everything I want really (wide, aeroish, tubeless ready and cheap....). Also, if I have to have colourful hubs, blue is about the only colour that would work for me.
I don't really have the cash but I noticed this morning that I don't have to pay council tax for the next two months so they are basically free, right....

They are rebadged Kinlin's so I imagine the answer is yes.

Are Arc31s a better choice than the Pave28s (£140 with different hubs)?

-
• #7465
The Paves aren't tubeless, if that's relevant to you.
-
• #7466
Not at the moment, but good to know. Their 'Volta' hubs are dearer than their 'Zeal' hubs (whether that means they are better...) and the rim is maybe more future proof, so looks worth the extra tenner.

Paves rims are slightly less wide, slightly less deep and slightly heavier.
(22g lighter per rim, 1mm less wide external, 3mm less deep)
Arc31s are tubeless ready. -

Would love to order a set of these but shipping to Aus is £98! - almost the cost of the wheel... not to mention the inevitable postage back for truing.

Not sure how the 31s hold up but I found the Arc22s to be the most flexible rim I've ever ridden

Anyone have the new Zonda c17 ?

Any thoughts on the upcoming Pacenti Forza rim?

I'm loving my kinesis crosslight v4 wheels.
Totes recommend.

Looks good on paper but it also over twice the price of the Kinlin XR22T/RT so I struggle to see the point. it is 1mm wider internally and 10g heavier than the kinlin. It is a tad deeper too. Both rims are asymetric. So while I like it on paper I dont think it is worth the price tag. That wont stop people buying it as people want the name. Bear in mind Pacenti have had two previous version both with issues but the issues with the V2 rim where more common than the v1 which where on the whole a reliable rim for (I had 5 or 6 rear rims crack). So maybe 3rd time luckly for pacenti.

I'm emailing Just Riding Along to find out about obtaining the new Brevet rims for.. well, Brevet.

Nothing is due for a few weeks. Given dates have been pushed back and back I would take any answer with a pinch of salt. I certainly am.
2017 Ksyrium Elite is 17mm internal, so at least he hasn't overspent by £250 on an outdated wheelset :)
