this could well have already been covered and i dont know when this got written, but sounds like Archetype's have deteriorated in quality... anyone got anything else about this?
That's a couple of years old at least, it crops up periodically when people are researching Archetypes. I've never seen an explanation or corroborating reviews: I suppose you could drop Strada a line.
Bearing in mind the number of Archetypes that are in use, if there were any serious flaws it would be all over the internet by now.

For £120, these Vittoria are tempting.
Does anyone recognise the rims or hubs?

I meant who the actual manufacturers are: Vittoria don't make rims and hubs.

Picked up some R24s last week, thought I took everything out of the box but didn't come across any rim tape. Got rid of the box. Now thinking I've probably done something stupid there.
So uh any ideas what width rim tape R24s take?

(electrical tape - go 'round about 3 times)

Probably not those wheels, but their higher end hubs are something I've not seen from chosen, novatec etc., really clever design, I asked just that to one of the rep's-that-actually-works-for-the-company at ridelondon and he said they're vittoria's own design, probably made in the same factory though.
Those wheels are probably novatec to kinlins of some sort though.

vittoria's own design
Interesting...

Mine came without tape, so you may not have thrown anything away. I put 18mm Schwalbe tapes in. The DT tubeless kit is slightly cheaper at Bike24 , you need the 21mm version for R24s, not the unidentified width @fussballclub linked to.

Could flo 30 rims be built into a disk hub like a hope evo 2? I have a set of spare 28's but will they just rip the spoke heads out with a 160 rotor ?.
-
• #5865
If a rim can tolerate the torque involved in popping a wheelie, it can also withstand the torque from pulling a stoppie, which is as hard as anybody can brake on a bicycle.

Cool, thats saved a lot of money and teeth.

I'm looking at getting a Kinesis 4S disc, it's 135mm OLD and comes with adaptors for 130. I'm looking at disc wheels for it, am I better off going for 135 OLD? What's the benefit? I assume both will be compatible with road cassettes, would there be any chain line issues or anything like that?

Not just better off, it's all but impossible to find 130mm disc hubs.

Ah, guess they include the adaptors for those who want to run caliper brakes instead of discs. Makes sense! Been looking at Chinese carbon ebay disc hub wheels and there were a few that offered 130 or 135 OLD. Wonder what hubs the 130 OLD wheels are using?

Looking into building my own wheelset this summer, does anyone have any rim and hub suggestions suitable for everyday with the occasional race? Using Ardennes at the moment which are nice but could probably build something lighter. Leaning towards Chris King R45 because bling but is there anything else out there that is equally as nice? Also unsure whether to take the plunge and go for carbon, or stick with HED and go for some wide Belgiums.. Thoughts?
Well, badged-down is probably nearer the mark as Superstar charge less for it than people selling them with Kinlin branding :-)
