Any good? (aside from the weightiness...)

discussed a page or two back.. Seem like decent vfm to me.

The issue is more whether they'll be OK with 25mm and 100psi. A lot of disc rims can't deal with that.
-
• #3905
Some of the weight of those will be the brass nips and fairly normal (as opposed to lightweight) hubs. The spokes are good but not bladed.
They look like fast, rebuildable wheels to me. Great price.

Why would you want that much pressure in a 25mm tyre on a wide rim anyway? Do you weigh 100+kg?
-
• #3907
I think you answered your own question :)
-
• #3908
Ugh, Flo sent my rims in 2 separate packages, so nearly double the import charges...they'd better be as good as everyone says
-
• #3909
what the hell???

It's not the end of the world, but I'm not overly happy. I'm more concerned that I thought import vat is 5% and not the 20% parcelforce want to charge me. Once it's all said and done ill post the costs in the Flo thread so everyone can see what it actually costs to swap your rims out for flo30s.im thinking it'll be 200/250 by the time they're relaced

I don't know.. Do I?

I see :)

Got Evans to price match the 3t accelero 40 pro wheels mentioned previously, weighed them in the shop - 172og without skewers... I'll report back once I've put some miles on them!
-
• #3915
Orly? That's about 200g less than I thought.
I'm running out of reasons not buy a pair...
Certain they take 11sp?
-
• #3916
I called Merlin and they fitted an 11spd while I waited on the phone - i haven't got a spare cassette to try for myself at the moment...

Sounds promising, thanks.

Oops, just ordered a pair of those 3T accelero pro wheels. Mostly for the wideness, not so much the aeros but I'm sure on the rare occasions I'm doing a sustained 20mph I'll appreciate them!
-
• #3920
They are alright - IIRC RS80s are the same wheel just without the ti. freehub, and cost £200 less.
-
• #3921
Let us know how you get on! They look like a decent set for the dosh, apart from the weight...
-
• #3922
@Cycliste has a pair on her BMC, and she likes them. Similar to the Fulcrum Racing 1s she has on her Enigma. But as Howard says, the RS81 C24s have the same rim, are only just over 100g heavier and are a lot cheaper. I've got some of the older 10 speed RS80 C24s (the RS81s are the 11 speed version) and I like them too.

Will do, hopefully they'll arrive tomorrow and I'll take em for a spin. Only have cheap 25c lithions to go on them but I'm sure they'll do. If they prove to be good at high speed, but otherwise too sluggish to accelerate I'll probably sell them on. We'll see.

Great price for decent wheels with free tyres, right?

Cheers guys.
They will be fine with even 23mm, though not recommend mainly because you can damaged the rims if you punch flat.
Edit, the forum somehow @dan Instead of @Tychom
