  • ^^ now thats a proper photo done by a pro

  • Holy shit, I would think the end was nigh if I saw clouds like that! That or Will Smith was about to drop out of some movie spaceship.

Will Smith saves the world/universe each week, so as long as he is around you'll be fine ;-P

  • that's stunning composition

  • But surely that would only be in the Harz mountains in Germany? ;)

A common phenomenon there I believe yes, but it is known as this wherever it occurs too...

  • Hmm can't seem to work out how to make the pics bigger ooh well.

fantastic to see this set- good work Seeds and thanks for posting link too

  • ^^^^Isn't that just a long exposure though? You would never actually see that with the naked eye..

  • it's like one of those shoe tree things usually found on american college campuses
how on earth did they throw them that high

  • and perfectly spaced

I thought Asperatus or whatever it is, is a new type of cloud never seen before. It was on the news and didn't look vastly different form the shot above.

  • an "asperatus" cloud from new zealand

  • if anyone watched have i got news for you either friday, saturday or last night ( bloody bbc and their repeats ) then you would have seen that cloud on the programme
allegedly a "new" cloud type discovered by the dude who it is names after, mr. asperatus

  • Metaphysical washing line. Brings back memories of art college. I drew the string.

  • Clouds made it onto HIGNFY?! I thoguht they'd have lots of material what with the MP Expenses and the cabinet all resigning. Didn't think they still had to scrape the news barrel to make a full 30 minutes.

  • Asperatus was discovered by Gavin Pretor-Pinney - founder of the Cloud Appreciation Society
