  • I'm in Norwich. I live on the (very slightly) hilly part so you get good cloud views. Some of my better ones coming up...

  • ...and finally, Needham Lakes on the Dunwich Dynamo 2015 edition...

  • These are awesome! One up there looks a bit like a fallstreak hole?

On second thoughts maybe not? My phone screen is all busted up so hard to see without looking at a computer

  • Here's one more. Virga, a shaft of precipitation that falls from a cloud but evaporates before reaching the ground

  • Yes, I think a fallstreak hole. I tweeted the Cloud Appreciation Society with it an dteh general consensus was that as well.

  • Nice, jealous! Not seen one of those yet

  • the Cloud Appreciation Society

    That's my evening sorted then

  • Currently thermally inverting at the beach

(Not technically clouds but atmospheric phenomena I suppose. Excuse the crap phone pictures.)

  • More of my fave clods. First one was over the Mojave desert, others are UK. Hole punch was Oxfordshire, mammatus was Uxbridge. I have a Norfolk roll cloud somewhere.

  • Here is Norfolk. It raced across the fields to us at Holkham and dumped a lot of rain in a very short period.

  • Nice work on all of these! Again you've seen nearly everything that I haven't

  • My family have got used to me wandering around looking at the sky the whole time. Every now and then they are delighted by the things I point out. Usually they just laugh or tut when I trip on twigs, tread in dog shit or fall off kerbs.

Ah that's all it takes, isn't it? People are always amazed by the stuff you spot but it's just a case of looking up instead of at the ground :)

Notice you've got Mars in your little picture, it's even more true of the night sky!

  • What planet or moon is that in your avatar?

  • It's Pluto from the New Horizons mission :)

  • Boring old cumulus (?) but it casts some nice shadows on the Highlands.

  • Noctilucents at Gravesend. I was on an overnight bike ride to Whitstable at the time, hence rubbish phone pic.

  • Nice, guess you didn't get time to sit and watch them? They're ethereal

  • Not much time - I did look out for an opportunity to mark a junction for other riders, but it started getting light before I had a chance.

  • A few from me:

This is an interesting one, lit from below by the setting sun
