  • I've never been to any of the big residential festivals, but I've done enough camping to know that I like camping. Given my experience of festivals based in London parks, I wouldn't want to combine the two, but that's as far as I'd venture. I'm pretty indifferent to the big festivals. I quite like little local festivals, though, ones that aren't overrun by tens of thousands of people.

  • Reading/Leeds festival used to be good, and now it is beyond wank.

  • Reading was never good, the site is beyond shit to start with.

  • But the riots were so fun wipes away nostalgic tear

  • ^ this.

  • How can you be nostalgic about something that happened three years ago?!

  • When 3yrs is a significant portion of your life

  • I just meant the general chaos and carnage the campsites were every year back in the day when you were still allowed gas cannisters and huge fires and shopping trolleys and you were allowed to congregate in groups of 50+ without being broken up by security.

Ok, yes I am talking about 2005/6 when I was only 16 but I'm 22 now and it seems like a decade ago in my mind.

  • blimey, I remember gladstonbury/reading in '85

*was pretty shit then too, but you could get in for free

  • I think I was there in 2000 when everything got burned down...

    That was aaaages ago.

    (leeds)

  • I preferred the Reading fesetival when Daphine and Celeste "invited" themselves to play, the organisers said ok, as they new it would be comedy gold, and the aforementioned act were reduced to tears by the crowd throwing piss and fecal matter at them! When they started crying did the crowd stop? Hell no, it was like a red flag to a bull it got so much worse.

That and the days when you could blow up the portaloos by chucking an on fire bog roll down them so that the methane boiled out of the chemical blue stuff and ignited!

  • Daftne and Sillyeste

    Who are they?

  • google it, yours ears will be dissapoint.

    Me too.

    Murtle and I earlier.

  • My last Glastonbury was in 1990, I stopped going because it was getting too expensive and overcrowded!

  • ^^^^^ (x5) I went to that one as well, when i was 16

"hey get you, your momma to, and you daddy"

Wasn't listening to the music, was too busy pissing into bottles to throw at the awful little shits!

  • My last Glastonbury was in 1990, I stopped going because it was getting too expensive and overcrowded!

I remember when all this used to be fields.............oh wait!

  • My last Glastonbury was in 1990, I stopped going because it was getting too expensive and overcrowded!

    In 1990 I was 1 :(

  • you're the same age as Germany (fed rep of)

  • My first Reading was in 2002 when I was 12, I went for one day with my mum and she gave me my first spliff. I hated it and have never smoked weed since. But I enjoyed it so much I went every year from then until 2009.

    /cool story bro

EDIT: the band I was there to see was sum41 of course

  • google it, yours ears will be dissapoint.

Oof. You've not been here long have you?

  • Not really, did I do something wrong?

  • There's a connection between the band you dislike and this place...

  • What connection would that be?

  • I've never been to any of the big residential festivals, but I've done enough camping to know that I like camping.

Camping only mixes well with naturism.
